Today was Tuesday and Labor Day, and everybody knew what that meant..
One more day until school.

We went to school on a Wednesday. We get Labor Day off and then school. Which was pretty decent, I guess.

If you honestly ask me though, Summer was going pretty slow in the beginning, but as soon as I met Jared, it sped up.

But you know what they say.. Time flies when you're having fun and I must say, I did have fun.

I walked downstairs that early morning at about 9AM. Mom and Trina were already up in the kitchen, cooking breakfast.

"Good Morning ladies." I greeted.

They smiled, "Good Morning!"

I took a strip of bacon that Trina set on a plate, and she gave me a playful evil eye,

"What's up today?" I ask.

Trina looks at me, "Well, since its sort of a holiday. We were thinking about all going out to the beach!"

"Hey, that actually sounds fun! We should go, we should go!" I chant.

My mom chuckles, "Okay. We are going to be there all day, so bring sun block. You know you burn easily.."

I nod, "Okay."

"And go wake up Jared for me! If we're going, we better eat breakfast and get ready quickly because it gets crowded there fast. We want to be able to get a good parking spot and spot in the sand." Trina commented.

"Okay!"

I turned on my heels to go wake up Jared, but Mom stopped me, "One more thing. Invite Jaycee!"

Hearing the name Jaycee made me nervous.

I haven't even talked to her since Sunday. She's been MIA since the argument she had with Jare.

I sort of wanted her to be MIA, because of what I did to her.

But I knew that couldn't last for long.

God knows I wanted to tell her so bad, but God also knew what she'd do to me..

"Oh Mom. That sounds really nice, but-but isn't this a family thing?" I hesitantly ask.

She looked at me oddly, "Jaycee is family, Arianna. Why-"

I gave my Mom the Are-you-serious-do-you-remember-anything-I-told-you look.

Then she stopped her sentence, "-Ooooh."

Sandra looked among us awkwardly. I smiled sheepishly at her, and pointed to my mom with my thumb, "Don't even ask, because I'm lost too."

Mom glared at me, and I shrugged, "Well anyways. You know, Jaycee is family. She always will be. Through the thick and thin because no matter what, through all the tough times you two had. You kept it trustworthy between the two of you, even if it was bad."

"Thanks Mom? For the odd and unnecessary lecture!" I shot her daggers.

She smiles and resumes cooking, "No problem dear. So gone on and invite Jaycee." She stares at me. "It'll be fun!"
