it had been a long day for hyunjin at work. he had to deal with some new patients today as jihyun was no longer in the hospital.
he hoped that chanhee was taking jihyun as he asked him too.
as he had reached the house already, hyunjin whistled a tune whilst getting out of his car and walking into the building.
한지현 currently, the girl was situated on the sofa, contemplating what she should say to her roommate.
was she supposed to be blunt about it? should she just brush it off? no, he lied to me, he should be confronted. did he lie?
the sound of a key turning made jihyun sit upright and face the noise.
realising it was hyunjin, she composed a rough idea of what she wanted to say before exhaling as he walked in the door.
"hey!" he greeted as he took off his glossy black shoes. "hyunjin-" "jihyun." he responded, mimicking her tone.
he could tell from her expression that she was serious.
"why didn't you tell me the truth?"
the male's face distorted in confusion. what's she on about?
"that you wanted me and chanhee to meet so he could protect me from whatever's after me?"
he froze. she knows?
"well- i- i just wanted you to be safe and-" "but why didn't you tell me?" she spat, almost breaking into tears, "why did you lie?" "why would you do that to me?" she gritted her teeth as tears started to fall from her eyes, blurring her vision.
hyunjin could see the raw emotion burning through her eyes. it was rage. pure, unfiltered rage. it was the first time he had seen her like this.
"well i wanted-" "this isn't about what you wanted. is it so hard to be transparent with me?"
he bowed his head in shame. she was right. he shouldn't have kept that from her.
she scoffed, "just as i thought, you have nothing to say."
hyunjin tried to form sentences but any words that came to his mind were dismissed as he sorted through his thoughts to try and find a rational response.
"you know what you're never home anyway so i'm just going to go." "what?" hyunjin questioned as jihyun started to pack a backpack with things she would need that night.
