chanhee's heart was racing

chanhee's heart was racing.

not in the normal sense, to mean that his heart rate was higher than usual. but chanhee actually felt like his heart was a race track and his blood were the F1 cars.

he didn't mind F1 cars. not at all actually. his father used to take him to watch quite a bunch of races when he was little. but the poor boy's heartbeat was so fast, he was afraid that hyunjin might have heard it.

of course, hyunjin was so focussed on getting jihyun out of the asylum that he probably wouldn't even hear chanhee speak, let alone his heartbeat, but chanhee didn't know that.

well, he did know it, but his brain refused to accept it and make him worry instead.

the reason for his accelerated heart rate was because they were there. in the asylum.

chanhee himself had never been there personally, but he had heard enough stories from jihyun and hyunjin to get a rough idea of what it was like.

it was pretty easy for them to get in, as hyunjin literally worked there, so everyone was familiar and friendly to him. but it seemed too easy for chanhee. there has to be something else, right?

as he walked, his eyes brushed the fine-painted walls of plain white, looking for a spec of colour. he couldn't find any. chanhee knew it was almost impossible to create a pure white colour, but the walls of this facility seemed to convince him otherwise. nothing was just as blinding as the same, plain white colour, lined across every single wall in the entire room.

deciding not to focus on the almost luminous wall colour, the male decided to focus on the details of the structure. it was the same. all he could see was a plain white door with a circular cut out window frame.

whoever designed this building was sure to make it quite architecturally interesting. chanhee thought, before snorting.

covering his mouth quickly, the boy's face flushed red. that was so embarrassing. he told himself. but he was even more embarrassed when hyunjin didn't say a thing about it.

to hyunjin, what chanhee did was an irrelevance. frankly, he didn't even like the guy, but he knew that he would be helpful. so he was tolerating him. for jihyun.

this was all for jihyun.

his concentration, his worries, his insomnia.

he did everything in his power to get her back.

as of right now, he was quite close to doing just that. in fact, the next corridor contained her cell.

not being able to contain his excitement, hyunjin picked up his pace. (A/N: i hate to interrupt but if you know you know.) something was so exhilarating about finally finding her, taking her home and being able to hold her in his arms and never let go. well, he would never have to let go, because she would be his. yes, hyunjin had developed some sort of a crush on her over the past few months but it had only occurred to him just how much he loved her until she was out of his grasp completely.

hyunjin came to a halt. they had arrived.

scanning his keycard, the male carefully twisted open the doorknob to jihyun's old chamber and stepped inside.

i can do this. the boy encouraged himself.

but when he looked up, what he saw shocked him. actually, he saw nothing. it was just a blank room. the only thing he saw was chanhee's equally shocked expression when he turned around, if that counts.

signing, hyunjin's form melted.

where are you?
