it has been four days since changmin and jihyun had gone missing. four days since hyunjin had gone feral. and when chanhee said feral, he really meant it.
the boy was searching everywhere for any sort of clue as to where the two had miraculously vanished to. he had checked his own apartment, he had checked chanhee's apartment and he had checked the mall. however nothing useful was found.
but chanhee couldn't stop thinking about the last words changmin said to him.
"help me. they're forcing me to do it all and i can't deal with this anymore."the younger weeped as he grasped onto chanhee's slim torso, as if he was clinging on for dear life.
"who? who's forcing you to do what?" chanhee questioned, getting more and more concerned as each syllable left his mouth.
"i can't say- but please make sure she's okay."
"what- i don't understand."
"jihyun."
at this, his heart skipped a beat.
jihyun? why would he need to make sure she's okay? unless changmin knew something he didn't?
"what do you mean by that?"
"someone is going to try to take her and put her back in the asylum."
chanhee didn't really know what to do with the information.
seeing as the two had disappeared, he only had one guess as to where they had been held. i need to tell hyunjin. chanhee thought. and yes, he did, in fact, need to tell hyunjin. but it was the immediate rise in his heart rate that told him not to. the spark of anxiety when he thought about it. wouldn't he get mad at me for not telling him sooner? i don't want to disappoint anyone.
these thoughts were what kept him awake at night. chanhee had gotten absolutely no sleep in the past few days. not even a wink. frankly, his eyes felt like they were going to fall out and his limbs too. yet somehow he just couldn't turn off his brain. it would constantly whirr and spin up thoughts that he didn't authorise.
this was the biggest problem. thinking. if his thoughts weren't so all over the place, he knew that he would have already told hyunjin and the two would happily on their way to the asylum already.
well, not happily, but that's beside the point.
gathering up all his courage, which honestly wasn't that much, he approached the other male.
"um- hyunjin." at his name, the other popped his head up.
"yes?" the said male rasped out.
chanhee was intimidated. like, really really intimidated. the other was sprawled on his couch, tie loosened, hair messy and, he hated to admit, quite hot.
this sexy, deep voiced dude was sitting on his couch and staring deep into his eyes.
nodding quickly, chanhee shuffled over to the front door and put on his slippers hastily. shortly after this, he was joined by hyunjin. after yet another nod, the two stepped out of the door and into the unknown.
phew, that went a lot better than expected.

it was hard for nayeon. it really was. seeing her old colleges every day. not allowed to say a word to any of them. she could see the pity in their eyes as they did what used to be her own job. delivering food to inmates. it was hurtful to her seeing someone else do what she was meant to do. but she knew they didn't like it either. well, at least, that's what she told herself.
the other two were fine. jihyun was used to it. but changmin was the strange one. each day, he's adopt a different mindset. the first day, he was hopeless, the second day he was accepting, the next day he was optimistic and today he was energetic. not really hopefully energetic but just energetic. the boy was telling jokes, running around and doing a multitude of things alike.
nayeon wasnt really sure what was up with him, or if he was mentally okay, but she didn't think it was her place to check up on him. after all, they had basically just met. the only time that he had gotten in contact with her was for their failed plan, so she didn't really have much time to get to know the boy.
currently, the girl was listening in on whatever changmin and jihyun were talking about, which happened to be the price of fish.
strange topic, but nayeon didn't mind.
listening to whatever her companions were talking about was much better than succumbing to the torture of her own thoughts. of her own hallucinations. because she was sure that there was something else in the room with them. she didn't see it until now, but in front of her was a slim, sly, subtle reptile.
and it was slithering her way.
somehow, the girl stayed calm. it's okay, this isn't real. closing her eyes and taking deep, heavy breaths, nayeon steadied herself as she whispered small reassurances. she knew it wasn't real. the snake wasn't actually there. it was all fake.
finally opening her eyes, there was no snake in sight. however, she did see two very worried people in front of her.
"hey- are you okay? you were breathing really heavily just now." jihyun asked.
"y-yeah, but i'm seeing things." she announced.
changmin's face distorted in confusion. what does she mean?
"remember the hawk you saw changmin?"
the boy nodded in recognition.
"well just now i saw a snake. but none of you guys saw it right?" nayeon questioned.
they shook their heads.
as she expected.
this wasn't something new to her. in fact, she had done it to jihyun on multiple occasions. it was a common practice at the asylum, so nayeon wasn't surprised.
what else would they do? they had to keep their patients insane. if not, they wouldn't make any money, right?
"i think the asylum is drugging our food to give us hallucinations."
