when they awoke. yes, they. it was strange. well, for one of them it was normal. waking up to the sight of plain white walls was usual. but for the other two, it was quite new. one of them had only seen the other in the white room and the last one had only heard of the said room.
it was shocking, yes, but not surprising. jihyun knew she would end up back here soon. she knew her happiness couldn't last forever. that's just how it works in life.
it was strange for nayeon. she had only ever been in this room to serve patients. but here she was. in the same room that she used to visit every day. delivering food and medicine.
but to changmin, it was absolutely baffling. no words could put his shock into proportion. he was sure his plan was perfect. it was supposed to work. but things don't always go to plan.
jihyun was the first to wake up. she was the first to figure out where they were.
sitting upright, the girl scanned her surroundings.
i knew it.
she knew it was the same one. she could recognise the plain white walls and plain white sheets of the bed. however instead of one bed, there were now three. one for each of them, she figured.
before it was just her. but now she had company. the thought of having people to accompany her here was amazing to her. it made her feel emotions she hadn't felt before. all of the pain and loss she felt like when here alone would leave. her positive thinking faded as the recounted all of the memories in this room.
all of the sadness.
the misery.
because she was in fact, back in her room in the asylum.
and she had no idea how she would get out this time.

once the other two had woken up, the three began to converse.
well, not really three, more like two.
changmin wasn't saying anything.
nayeon figured it was because of shock.
how else could one react? changmin had literally put his life and freedom on the line for a plan he was sure was going to work.
the said boy sat there. listening to the girls' conversation. it was nothing interesting, they were just talking about a song they liked. a song they'll never hear again. because of this, the male was drifting into his own thoughts. thoughts about what happened that night.
he thought about what he could have done better. why his plan went wrong.
because on his part, it was perfect.
he had successfully gotten jihyun out unnoticed, he had gotten to the exit. but the gas. how would they know to do that?
this one question was haunting him. it was like his thoughts were circling him. physically.
and he meant it.
he could literally see a flying eagle near the plain white ceiling.
and it was diving straight at him.
changmin dodged the eagle hastily while startling the two girls with his ear piercing scream.
the two looked at him in shock.
what's happening? they thought.
as if he knew exactly what they were thinking, changmin pointed at the eagle he saw. well, thought he saw. because when he looked back, it was gone and the only ones in the room with him were the girls.
"b-but i saw an eagle just there!" he stuttered. "it was coming straight at me and i dodged-"
the boy was cut off by nayeon, "changmin, there was no eagle. it was just us three."
but he was sure he saw it.
he was absolutely sure.
yet the girls didn't?
something wasn't right about this room.
and he knew he had to get out soon,
if he wanted to stay sane.

hello !! so part three is stating from here. i will no longer be including POVs and the story will now be narrated from 3rd person omniscient. that's why i talked about what other characters were thinking and feeling too! for some reason i feel like it's been a while since we've checked in on hyunjin and chanhee :(( even tho it was only a few chapters ago. sorry for not updating much yall- it's hard to figure out ideas for this story now but i'm trying my best. i feel like it miGHT end soon (?) but i'm not sure. i do have a plan for this that not even the people working closely on this story with me know about. i bet they're so confused by this chap cuz i said nothing about this type of thing to them. sorry y'all lmao. but regardless, i hope you enjoyed this chapter. stay safe and healthy !!! i love you all so much.
