-Shay's Pov-
"Class please turn to page 287 of your textbook?" Professor Athena said as she walked over to the chalk board. "The history of Rolland and Eden Dusk? Miss Athena we covered this in first year didn't we" Jake said in confusion and professor Athena was very quick to reply back to him. "Yes, you did but not in detail. Although I believe there is two girls in this class that know this history as it, since it's there own family history so I expect they will get the best grades on this assignment." Professor Athena looked over in the direction of me and Denice and then back at the white board. I turned to glance behind me only to find my twin already giving me a anxious look and I gave her a small smile and then turned back around to listen to the rest of the lecture. We were told to write a 5 page essay on the history of Rolland and eden Dusk and it was due next week. After class we all went separate directions as Denice and Jake went off to gym class and I went to biology with Ray. Meanwhile Tobi and Reid were off to a math class. You see here at Dusk we also take regular schooling. Me and Ray were in the middle of dissecting a frog when there was a knock at the door and nurse Nikki came in. I already knew it was for me.
"I need to talk with Shaylyn Hastings please?" I sighed and apologized to Ray before heading out into the hall to talk with nurse Nikki. "Miss Shay your mother would like to see you in her office as soon as possible it's about the results of the tests I did with you in these past few weeks," She explained to me. I looked down at my feet then back up at nurse Nikki who gave me a smile and told me it will be okay. She also mentioned she will tell the teacher I'll be back for class unless I miss it and just to hand me the worksheet when I get back. I smiled and then walked up a couple of floors to my mothers office and knocked on her door. "Hi mom you wanted to see me?" I ask as I push open the big wooden doors of her office and walk over to her desk plopping myself down in one of the leather chairs in front of her desk she looked up from her paper work and smiled. "Hello darling! Yes, I did want to talk to you about the results of the testing you have been doing with the nurse. My smile dropped and I looked at my mom with a worried expression. Please be good news. I thought to myself. Mother looked at me and seen my expression when she got up from her chair and walked around her desk and pulled me into a hug. "No no sweet heart! It's nothing bad I promise. i
It's the opposite actually you seem to be a healthy and strong normal 17 year old vampire." I smiled back at my mom pretending to wipe my brow in relief and hugged her tighter. "Oh thank god! I thought you were going to say something was wrong." I replied back."That's just it darling everything seems normal it's ... its too good to be true. I want further investigation and have been searching for the right person to do the job I think I may have found someone and you will meet her when she arrives in a few days." She explained to me looking directly at me. I frowned at my mother in response. "Mother If nurse Nikki didn't find anything wrong with me I must be fine but if you really want this lady or whoever to do more testing then fine just let me know when she arrives," Before she was able to reply back to me her phone rang from her secretary cutting her off. "Okay darling I have to answer this you can see yourself out please and close the door too. Thank you Shaylyn, love you." With that I got up and walked out of the room closing the heavy wooden door and stopped to listen to my mothers conversation quickly. I know it was bad to do, but I couldn't help it. "Hello! Is this Aria Brooks? Excellent, it's a pleasure to talk to you finally. Yes I have a job for you, I heard your from one of the best witching families and well I need the best I can get for this job," I left the door and continued to walk down the hall not wanting to eavesdrop anymore and headed for my dorm room to talk with my twin and let her know what was going on.
"Denice?" I called out to my twin as I got into the room she was sitting at her desk catching up on school work as I walked over and shut her book getting her attention. "Shay am studying," she whines looking up at me. "Denice we need to talk and we need to talk where other people won't listen in let's go to-"
Denice pulled me in and whispered so only I could hear her. "Secret library?" I nodded and ran to my favourite place while Denice came behind me. When we got in and I sealed the door locking it just in case and Denice sat on the couch. "Well what do you want to say?" She asked me. I walked over to the back self and reach down the the very bottom pulling out the old old grimoire and turned to Denice while holding it in my hands. "Well I may have a solution to our problem and her name is Aria Brooks. She is the only one that can read this thing and use it, and she is from the most powerful witching family there is. Denice do you understand what this means?" I smile walking slowly towards her. Denice looked at me in a look of worry mixed with excitement on her face. "Yeah we could help Kayleigh, get her powers back and maybe even help Wren you know. Well if he wants it. It's his choice but still this is awesome and where are we going to find this Aria Brooks?"
I smiled at my twin and dropped the book on the table in front of us. "We won't find her, she's coming to us." Denice scrunched her eyebrows and looked confused so I clarified it even more while she touched the book with her hand. "I over heard mom on the phone with her she wants Aria to come here for some job and we'll since she is coming to Dusk after Christmas break which is in a couple of weeks we might as well ask her for her help while we can," Denice nodded and I put the book back in its safe spot before we both headed out to catch up with the rest of our friends for a quick game of man hunt again of course it was girls against guys as always which made it more fun for us.
