Born this way

*Context: Kurt is back at McKinley whist Blaine is currently still at dalton, I'm basing this fic off of an amazing piece of fanart, I would love to credit the artist but I can't find them :( Also, I know the "born this way" ep takes place in like the fall or something bc they are all wearing coats but It is summer in my mind*

Blaine was sitting in the front row of Mckinley High's auditorium; His boyfriend had invited him to come and watch the New Direction's "born this way" performance. Blaine knew how much this meant to Kurt, considering he was almost leaping into the air with excitement when he told him they were doing Gaga again, AND he gets to sing the lead. 

as the music began, Kurt walked to the centre of the stage in tight jeans, a red flannel jacket and messy hair. Wow. Blaine's boyfriend was hot. 

He watched with a smile as Kurt began to talk, and his heart fluttered with joy when Tina and Mercedes walked up to him and opened his jacket to reveal a shirt stating "Likes Boys". Wow. his boyfriend was REALLY hot. 

Blaine continued to watch the entire performance, entranced. 

The happy group all gathered together and sang the final line. "I'm on the right track baby, I was born this way!" The New Directions finished, and as they celebrated Kurt walked up to him.

"How was that?" he asked to a speechless Blaine. 

"That was...w-wow Kurt. You were amazing!" Blaine stuttered back. He grasped Kurt's hand as he said "Hey, do you want to get out of here? have a picnic in the park? I kind of sort of already have one packed and ready in my car." He smiled sheepishly. 

Kurt just laughed as he pulled Blaine up and kissed him gently. "I'd love to, my only request is that you better have bought some ice cream." the boys smiled as they laced their hands together and left the auditorium, to smirks and catcalls from the rest of the glee club. Kurt was pretty sure he heard Puck yell "GET SOME!".

After dragging their picnic up a hill, Kurt collapsed on the grass, exhausted. "blaine, how in God's name are you wearing that jacket? It is melting out here! Please for my sake take it off." He choked out in between  gasps for air.  

"aw Kurt! you ruined the surprise!" He said dropping his head a little. "huh?" Kurt questioned, sitting up to look at the curly-haired boy. 

Blaine slowly held either end of his jacket, and tore it open to reveal a shirt saying "Loves A boy". He smiled at his boyfriend. 

Kurt's heart jumped as he stood up and wrestled a laughing Blaine to the ground, landing on top of him. "I love you." he said, kissing him deeply. Blaine kissed him back, and the pair ended up making out for a solid five minutes until Kurt suddenly sat up and said "oh no! the ice cream! It's melted!" 

The couple giggled as they ate melted ice cream and squashed strawberries, they giggled when strawberry juice dripped down Blaine's chin and onto his shirt, and they giggled when Kurt got ice cream on his nose. 

The boys lay down together, heads next to each other and Kurt's arm placed lovingly around the back of Blaine's neck, showing their bold shirts off to anyone who passed by. 

"so....Did you like my surprise?" Blaine asked. Kurt laughed softly as he said "yes Blaine, I did." He smiled and leaned his head into Blaine's neck as he said "this is perfect. this is how life is supposed to be, together." 

Blaine kissed Kurt's forehead gently as both boys closed their eyes in loving bliss.
