*Context: married in New York*
Blaine rolled over in bed and buried his head in Kurt's chest, trying to fall back asleep and ignoring the sunbeams pouring in from the window above them.
Kurt smiled slightly and put his arm around him without opening his eyes. "You know there is no chance of sleeping in today right? Tracy is going to be running in here as soon as she wakes up." Kurt said sleepily.
"exactly, sleep while we still can." Blaine replied, keeping his eyes closed.
"Daddy! Dad! wake upppppp!!!!" seven year old Tracy said, running into the room and jumping on her dads' bed. Blaine seized her and put her in between himself and Kurt. "No daddy, we need to get up!" Tracy said, trying to break free from his grasp.
"why is that?" Kurt asked in mock-confusion, sitting up on the pillows. "Because dad, it's my birthday today!" She said, standing up and jumping on the bed again.
"alright, alright!" Blaine said, pulling himself out of bed, and helping his daughter drag Kurt up. after successfully pulling him into a standing position, the trio walked towards the living room, Kurt's hands over Tracy's eyes.
"happy birthday!" Kurt and Blaine yelled, opening her eyes to reveal a giant pile of presents, a number 7 balloon, a giant banner saying "Happy 7th Birthday Tracy!" and a shiny pink bike with a huge ribbon around it. They really spoiled their daughter.
"O. M.G!" She said, before running into the room and sinking down next to the bike.
"Excuse me young lady, where did you learn that..." Blaine began to say, when Kurt interrupted him. "Blaine honey, it's her birthday. let her do what she wants." he said, kissing his cheek and putting his head on Blaine's shoulder.
-
thirty minutes later, the Anderson-Hummel family were sitting at the table eating pancakes with wrapping paper strewn all around the room when Blaine spoke. "since your party was yesterday, we can't afford to throw another one today but we can go to dinner wherever you want. what do you want to do today?"
Tracy thought for a moment, chewing her pancakes. "I want to go to the park and ride my bike!" she said excitedly. "alright, let's go get dressed, you are wearing knee pads and a helmet though, this bike is a lot bigger than your old one." Kurt said, standing up.
-
A few hours later, in the middle of central park Blaine was running behind Tracy who was still getting used to her new bike whilst Kurt filmed her to send it to Grandpa Burt.
"that's it go on your own now!" Blaine said, letting go of Tracy and walking back over to his husband. they smiled at each other as the watched her pedal faster and faster.
"dad, daddy look!" Tracy shouted, turning to look at her parents.
"Tracy, watch where you're going!" Kurt called back.
"But can you see?" She asked, still facing her dads.
"Hey, look out!" Blaine yelled, just as she crashed into the side of the fountain, flew above the handlebars and headfirst into the water.
"Tracy!" the boys yelled, running over to the fountain and scooping their shivering daughter out of the water.
"Are you alright?" Kurt asked, checking her all over for any cuts or bruises, while Blaine Unclipped her helmet and wrapped his jacket round her to try and dry her off.
"y-yes I-I'm f-f-fine, Let's d -do it again!" she said, her teeth chattering.
"ok we need to get you home and warm you up." Blaine said, picking up the bike while Kurt carried Tracy home.
The family walked into the apartment and Blaine put Tracy in a warm bubble bath. "Should I just order some pizza for us?" Kurt asked his daughter. "oh yes please dad! can I have ice cream to?" she said excitedly.
"I think that can be arranged." Kurt said, laughing slightly at her constant positivity.
-
sitting on the couch in between her dads and wrapped tightly in a thick towel while eating pizza, Tracy smiled and said "thanks for a great birthday dad and daddy."
Even though she had fallen in the fountain, scraped her elbow, bent her bike (Which Kurt fixed, growing up in a tire shop taught him a lot) and had to settle for Pizza, Blaine and Kurt had raised her well enough to be grateful for even the smallest of luxuries, because her dads loved her and that was enough.
Blaine and Kurt went into the kitchen and lit the candles on Tracy's pink and white birthday cake, giggling when Blaine couldn't light the match properly. They walked back over to Tracy, singing "Happy birthday" and cheering when she blew out her candles.
The family snuggled down on the couch again, eating cake and watching "Into the woods", all of them singing along.
Blaine smiled across at Kurt and kissed him gently.
"ew." Tracy said quietly.
