*Context: Married and living in New York alone...again.*

Kurt and Blaine were sitting side-by-side in bed, Kurt reading the latest edition of Vogue and Blaine a Harry Potter book. They almost looked like an old married couple; with their brows furrowed and their reading glasses perched on the edge of their noses.

Blaine took off his glasses, put his book on his bedside table and walked towards the kitchen. Kurt glanced at him quickly, not paying much attention, assuming he was just going to get some water.

He continued to not pay much attention when he heard a chair scrape across the floor, assuming Blaine was sitting down. He still didn't pay much attention when he heard the clink of glass, assuming Blaine was, as he predicted, getting some water.

Kurt did pay attention however when he heard a series of loud bangs, the sound of glass breaking and a shriek of pain from the kitchen.

"Blaine!?" Kurt yelled, leaping out of bed and running into the kitchen. there was the chair, turned on its side; there was broken glass scattered all over the floor; and in the middle of it all, Blaine: Laying on the ground and clutching his right arm and whimpering in pain.

"Honey what happened?" Kurt asked, lifting his husband into a sitting position, not caring that he was now sitting in broken glass himself.

"There was a spider above the sink...I know you don't like them so I thought I would get rid of it. It's pretty dark in here, so I didn't know that I had grabbed the chair with the gammy leg. I stood on it and tried to reach the spider with the glass but I slipped." Blaine choked out in between breaths; trying to hold back his tears of pain.

"alright, we need to get you to the ER" Kurt said, hauling Blaine up and half carrying him to the car.

-

"Is he alright?" Kurt asked the doctor a few hours later, as he came out of the X-ray room.

"Yes. he has broken his right arm and dislocated his shoulder. He must of landed on it in a very odd position. The damage isn't too severe; he just needs to wear a cast and and sling for a month or two. there shouldn't be any lasting effects, so he is ready to go home."  The doctor replied.

Kurt smiled softly at his husband: Blaine was sitting up on the examination table, smiling like a little kid who just got a sticker. The doctor forgot to warn him Blaine was very high on painkillers.

-

The pair entered their apartment, Kurt's right arm snaked tightly around Blaine's waist, partly because he was worried about him and partly to keep him walking in a straight line.

Kurt gently placed Blaine down on the couch and put a blanket over him. "try and go to sleep, It is really late and I feel like it will be easier trying to clean up glass when you are not interrupting me."

"Buuuuuuuuuuuuut im not even tireeeeeed....." Blaine slurred as he tried to get up, his husband pushing him back down onto the couch.

"no. try and get comfortable with that arm and just lie still."

ignoring Blaine's calls, Kurt went into the kitchen and started cleaning up the broken glass, and within five minutes he heard snoring.

Smiling, Kurt picked up Blaine and carried him to their bed; taking off their shoes and socks, not bothering to change into their pyjamas. He got in bed beside Blaine and pulled the covers other them both; snuggling close to Blaine's chest.
