The rest of the week went by pretty fast.  My homework load was slightly heavy during the week, my follower count skyrocketed, and some fan girls hated me, but other than that it was a regular week.  My friends and family knew about Shawn and I, and they were all really happy for us.  After school on Friday, Talia, Sophie, Emily, Morgan and I went dress shopping for homecoming.  Homecoming was a week away and I was the only one left without an official date.  Talia was asked by Logan, Sophie by Jackson, Emily by Colin, and Morgan by a guy named Anthony.  Even though some of them were going as friends, I still wouldn’t want to go alone.  I don’t know why Shawn wouldn’t ask me, but you never know.  We went to a dress boutique at the mall.  All of the dresses are originals, so we wouldn’t have to worry about 2 of us wearing the same dress.  We all found on top option, then sat on a long, white, leather couch watching each girl try on her dress one by one.  It was as if we were choosing our wedding dresses, taking in the opinions of our “bridesmaids”. Talia chose a red, strapless low to high dress, that made her legs look great.  Sophie came out in a short, pale pink halter dress, with subtle sparkles sewn in the fabric.  Emily chose a short, maroon dress, with a high lace neckline, and lace hem.  Morgan chose a simple, longsleeve, black dress with an open back.  I was the last one to display my choice.  I picked out a light blue, short skater dress, with short sleeves, covered in silver sparkles.  It had a sweetheart neckline and was tight at the top, but then flared out a little.  I came out, modeling it for my friends.  After getting some quality compliments on how it looked, I purchased it and we were off to buy accessories.  2 hours and $200 later, I had a new dress, new silver pumps, and a handful of elegant accessories.  The only thing missing was a date.  In the car on the way home I said, “Guys, what if Shawn doesn’t ask me?”

“Shut up, he will.”  Morgan assured.

“He’s your boyfriend, he obliviously will.” Sophie said.  I loved hearing other people refer to him as MY boyfriend.  Sophie and Emily looked at each other and smiled, as if they knew something I didn’t.  Like the way Shawn looked at me when I didn’t know who he was after hitting him with my car.

“What?”  I asked.

“Nothing.”  They simultaneously giggled.  I was too exhausted to try and pry information out of them, so I blew it off.  They girls and I we all headed to my house to hang out and watch movies. Morgan parked in my driveway and we all filed out of the car.

"Nicki, you should hang your dress up in you room right away, so that it doesn't wrinkle." Emily said as we walked towards the front door.

"Ok." I replied confused as to why she felt the need to tell me that. As we walked inside Sophie turned to me and moved a strand of hair, that had fallen in my face, behind my ear. She smiled at me, so I smiled back still confused why she cared if a strand was in my face. I walked up the stairs and noticed Talia had pulled out her phone, facing it directly at me. Maybe she was talking a snipe of me for snapchat or something. I heard some giggles behind me as I opened my bedroom door. I couldn't take in what I had revealed behind the door. Shawn, Jackson, Logan, and Colin were standing in my room, all wearing Northbrook cheerleading uniforms. They all began clapping as the chanted, "Shawn Mendes thinks you're great, will you be his homecoming date?!" Then Shawn stood on Logan and Jacksons knees, in a small mount as they shook their pom poms. Shawn walked up to me, holding a bouquet of light pink roses, my favorite. "So, what do you say?" He asked, handing me the flowers.

"YES!" I squealed, as I pulled him into a tight hug. Talia had actually taken a video, and now I know why Sophie had moved my hair out of my face. We took some really cute pictures, one with Shawn and I and one with me and all the boys. The guys changed out of the uniforms as us girls walked downstairs to get some movies.

"So did you like your surprise?" My mom asked me as we walked into the kitchen.

"I loved it." I replied, I honestly couldn't stop myself from smiling. Once the boys were changed, we grabbed some snacks and the movies, then went to the basement. Emily decided it was be a good idea to watch a scary movie, which I didn't agree with, considering I'm scared of my own shadow. But I sat on the love seat, next to Shawn, so he could comfort me during the scary parts. My phone started vibrating with Twitter notifications. Shawn tweeted a link to and Instagram picture he had just posted. I clicked the link, which directed me to a picture of me holding the roses, standing next to Shawn, surrounded by all the guys in cheerleading uniforms. The caption was "She said yes <3". He tagged all of us in the picture, including Talia, who was the photographer. I smiled as Shawn looked over my shoulder and said "I'm so happy you said yes. I was really nervous you wouldn't like it. "

"Shawn, I loved it. It was absolutely perfect. Thank you." I said wrapping my arm around his waist. He wrapped his arm around my shoulder and pulled my closer, kissing my head. We all continued watching the scary movie in my basement. I buried my face into Shawns chest every time a scary scene occurred. I loved how he held me close and made me feel safe. That's one of those feeling you wish would last forever.
