Since Shawn and I were the only sober ones as this get-together was drawing to a close, we decided that it was on us to find Emily and Colin. Last time we saw them, they were on the back of Emily's car. Shawn and I walked toward her car, the blanket still around us and his arm snaked around my waist. We approached the side window and saw them making out in the trunk of the car. Shawn started laughing and gave Colin a thumbs up through the window. I hit his shoulder playfully and he looked back at me and sighed.
"You're no fun," he pouted. I pecked his lips and pulled him back to where everyone else was and we begin cleaning everything up and attempting to get everyone inside. Shawn and I, being the only sober ones, drove back to the houses after knocking on Colin's car door and bringing the two of them with us. As I was driving, Sophie and Jackson were being all touchy right next to me as I uncomfortably maneuvered the car back to the house. Sophie slung an arm around my shoulder and put her lips to my ear and told me, not so quietly, her request for the night.
"Hey, Nick," she slurred, brushing her fingers through my hair. "We're gonna need to change up the sleeping arrangements tonight." She returned to being all over Jackson, who was obviously enjoying himself. I smiled to myself despite what was going on around me. Since Shawn was Jackson's roommate, I was going to have to be in his room.
We pulled into the garage after Shawn's vehicle did and locked up the house.
"Oh yeah, by the way," I began. "Is it okay if I stay in your room? I've been replaced by Jackson." He grinned and put his arm around my shoulders.
"I guess if there's no other option," he joked. I punched his shoulder and we went upstairs. I told him I was just going to grab some pajamas first, so I'd meet him in his room. Walking down the hallway, I stopped at my room and tried opening the door, but it was locked. I started knocking on the door and calling Sophie's name, but I got no response. I didn't even want to know what was going on on the other side of the door, so I just walked back to Shawn's room.
"Hey," I said as I walked in. He had just finished taking off his shirt and was throwing it in a laundry bag. I found myself staring at his toned abs and arms, before he took me out of my thoughts.
"Eyes up here, babe," he chuckled. "Those don't look like pajamas," he noticed, motioning to my outfit.
"They'll do. My door was locked and I didn't really want to see what Soph and Jackson were doing," I explained. He nodded in understanding.
"I gotcha, let me get you a shirt," he said. I was secretly hoping he'd offer me something of his. He dug through his suitcase and threw me a black shirt with a red logo.
"What is this?" I asked him, referring to the logo.
"Oh, that's from Magcon. It was a meet and greet convention I did with a bunch of guys from Vine," he told me. Wow, I felt honored to wear this. I went into the bathroom across the hall and locked the door. I brushed my teeth and changed into the shirt, which made me feel all warm and fuzzy just because it was Shawn's. I turned off the light and went back into the room. Shawn went to go brush his teeth and do whatever else guys do at night, so I got under the covers and checked Twitter. Shawn came in and turned off the light before closing the door. I turned my phone off and put it on the nightstand. He got under the covers, too, and once he was laying down, he pulled me closer to him by my waist. I turned to face him and kissed his lips before cuddling into his bare chest. He kept his arms wrapped around my waist and he occasionally kissed my head.
"Thank you, Sophie," I whispered, and Shawn laughed at my remark. He put one of his hands under my, well his, shirt and he laid it on my bare skin. As I felt myself drifting off to sleep, I murmured "I love you" to Shawn.
