I woke up the next morning to a loud iPhone alarm. I shivered and groaned as I pulled the covers up to my chin. A laugh escaped Shawn's mouth as he woke up beside me, watching my reluctance to get out of bed. He placed a long kiss on the back of my head and tightened his grip around my bare torso.
"You're so cold," he started, rubbing his hands repeatedly over my sides.
"Maybe if someone didn't make me take off my shirt, I wouldn't feel like a vampire," I countered, shifting onto my side to face him. He chuckled and pecked my lips quickly.
"I couldn't stand that shirt on you any longer," he told me, leaning his nose against mine. I laughed and removed his hand off my torso, preparing to stand up.
“Close your eyes.” I said as I lifted the covers off and stepping out of bed. I turned over my shoulder and saw Shawn looking at my back. “Close them.” I laughed and I walked to the bathroom. I closed the door behind me and started the shower. As I waited for the water to heat up before stepping in, I checked the clock. 5:01am. Right on schedule. Once in the shower, I noticed the shampoo and condition must be either Nash’s or Cam’s, because they were men’s. Perfect, now I’m going to smell like a man. I went through my usual shower routine, washing my hair, then face, then body, and brushing my teeth. Yes I brush my teeth in the shower, no it’s not weird. I stepped out and wrapped a towel around my body and a smaller one around my hair. I opened the door to the bathroom and a cold burst of air filled the steamy bathroom. Shawn was standing right outside the door.
“I hope you didn’t use all the hot water. We should have just showered together to save water.” He smirked at me.
“In your dreams.” I replied slyly before kissing him on the cheek and walking past. Once Shawn was in the shower I changed into a pair of Nash’s sweatpants and the tshirt Shawn had slept in. It still carried the sweet scent of his cologne. I brushed through my hair, grabbed all my stuff, then headed downstairs to load up Shawn’s car. On my way back to the guest room, I wrote Nash a note, thanking him for letting us crash here, and letting me wear his sweatpants, which he didn’t know I’d taken. Once I returned to the room, Shawn was standing next to the bed, back to me, in only his underwear, drying his hair off with a towel.
He turned around and saw me standing at the door, “You’re drooling.” He laughed. A little embarrassed that he had caught me admiring his muscular back, I picked my towel up off the floor and threw it at him.
“Hurry get ready we have leave by 5:25.” I said as I jumped onto the bed.
“I have 5 minutes, that’s plenty of time.” He assured me as he walked out of the room. Moments later he re-entered, fully clothed. He had on beige khakis and a light blue, plaid button up.
“Is this what people wear to dance competitions? Or should I change into something more casual?” He questioned.
“No it’s perfect, you look good.” I said admiring his outfit. He smiled as he brushed a comb through his hair. I checked my phone as he walked into the bathroom to finish getting ready. I went over my checklist of dance items I needed to grab once we got to my house.
“2 minutes!” I yelled to Shawn.
“I’m ready.” He said as he walked out of the bathroom. I smelled the farmiliar scent and jumped up and hugged him.
“You smell really good.” I said, facing his chest, taking in his cologne.
“Good, I’m glad I don’t smell bad.” He laughed, hugging back. I released his embrace so he could grab his belongings and head to the car. Within 2 minutes later, we were on our way to my house.
