Chapter 26

        I guess I must have fallen asleep for real because when I woke up, it was to an alarm at 6:30 with my textbook open in front of me.  I peeled my face off the open book and got up. Maybe some of the text was absorbed into my brain from the page of the textbook I was sleeping on. I quickly got into the shower. Since I wanted to look extra good today, I couldn't spend extra time in the shower contemplating my life. I got out and brushed my hair. I left it down to dry straight and grabbed my clothes. I put on a black flowy skirt, a cream Free People bralette, with a maroon flowy, loose tank over it. I added song thin necklaces and earrings for accessories before putting on my black converse. I decided to apply a little makeup, so I covered my dark circles, curled my eyelashes, and put on mascara. I checked my phone and it read 7:15. Wow I've made pretty good time so far. I texted Shawn.

Me:

hey wanna get breakfast if ur ready?

Shawn❤️:

yaa I'll pick you up in 15. oh and turn around.

I turned around and looked out my window to see Shawn waving at me. I flipped him off sarcastically and laughed before walking out of my room. Thank god it's Friday, this day is going to be great. Plus, the premier for 'Expelled' is tonight so all I have to do is get through the next 8 hours of torture.  Once I got dressed, I waited in the driveway until I saw Shawn depart from his house.  He smiled when he saw me outside and motioned me to come over.  He opened the door for me as I got in the car and then got in the driver's seat.  I told him about this cute café near where we had our first date.  At the mention of the restaurant where we became a "thing," he smiled.  I miss those days, I really do.  But as soon as I talk things over with Patrick, I'll be with Cam and Shawn will still keep a piece of my heart.  I hope things will be this simple but with my luck, I doubt they will be.  We picked up some muffins and coffee from the café and carried on with the day.  School was boring, per usual, the only thing getting me through it was knowing I was going to the ‘Expelled’ premier tonight.  After school Sophie, Emily, Morgan, and Talia came and swarmed my locker like bees.  

“Nick, what are we doing tonight?” Morgan questioned.  It’s really not like I make all the decisions in our friend group though.  

“Can we go to Chipolte?” Emily added in.
“Yeah, and after that we can go to Michael’s house, he’s having a party and invited all of us.”  Sophie informed us.  Michael had told me about his party and said I should come, but I’d rather go to the premier, even though the party sounded pretty fun.  

“I can’t guys, I’m going to a movie premier.” I said, wow I felt fancy saying that, like I was someone important.  

“What?! You didn’t tell us?!” Talia said with a fierce tone.  

“Sorry, I was just invited, it’s no big deal.”  I lied, this seemed like a big deal to me.

“It’s fine,” Sophie said, calming Talia down, “what movie are you seeing?”

“It’s called ‘Expelled’.”

“O-M-G! You’re so lucky! I can’t wait ‘till it comes out!” Emily exclaimed, dramatically flailing her arms.  

“Who are you going with?” Morgan questioned, ignoring Emily being melodramatic.

“I’m going with Cameron, he asked me to be his date for tonight.” I said smirking.

They all replied with “OHH” and “AWW” as I described my outfit and plans for tonight.  Eventually they left for Chipolte and I headed home.  I had ‘till 6:30 to get ready before Cam picks me up. Two and a half hours should be enough time to get ready, right?
