When I got home, all I could think about was when Cheng Yin and I got kidnapped in our past life. It was our first year of University, and we both got kidnapped because they suspected that one of us was his girlfriend. They wanted to use this as a leverage against him; either he lets go of the bid on the latest developing hotel in the neighboring City Y. It's been said that the location is optimal for tourists.

But the thing is, starting in high school, he's been cold. To everyone, but Cheng Yin. I see her following him everywhere, but he wouldn't even give me a glance. I mean, weren't we at least childhood friends? Is he going to use that one incident against me for the rest of his life?

I had a bit of last hope that he would come save me, and he did! When he arrived at the abandoned warehouse, his cold look was no more. It was of great worry and anger.

Then I realized that he wasn't worrying for me, he was worrying for Cheng Yin. When the kidnappers pulled the trigger on him, I felt a strong shove, and I died instead. All I saw was a blur, and maybe heard a muffled cry.

I couldn't believe I died so easily. It's a shame I never got to date, never got to make more friends.

*The next day*

Getting up in the morning knowing that I'm alive is still kinda hard to believe. The past just keeps haunting me, endlessly. The pain is numbing, it feels like my emotions are slipping.

School was the same, except that I was more welcomed than usual, after changing my attitude. It's more like I went from hot headed teenager to an mature adult overnight.

Getting lost in my thoughts, I suddenly bumped into a hard chest.

"Oops, watch out. Are you ok?" the guy said, in a gentle, youthful voice as he held my shoulders gently.

I looked up, and god, he was cute. His dark brown hair looked especially soft and wavy, and his soft amber eyes caught my attention.

Abruptly, my day dreaming ended and realized that there were a lot of girls crowding around him, staring at me like I seduced him.

"I apologize, I'm fine. You? You new here? How's your first day? I said.

"Yeah, I'm new. First day's good, but it's a bit overwhelming." he said, almost nervously.

I looked around us and got the message.

"Yeah I can understand. This is a pretty grand school. Follow me." I said, as I pulled him down the hall.

And for a second he seemed relieved.

"So, you don't like the attention? Seems like all the girls like you, I mean, you are pretty cute."

He blushed, stretched his neck and looked away.

"Yeah, I know, but I'm still not used to it."

"The attention?"

"Yeah..."

"Oh, what about me? I mean your just gonna follow me? Like I told you to?"

"Um...yeah...you seem different from the other girls."

"Hehe, you've got that right. I'm a little...different. Wanna be friends? I can take you around, but just a notice, I'm not that well liked around here."

"Really? You seem genuine to me."

"Well...before I was kind of a bitch. I mean we are rich aren't we?"

"Lol, you're right. We are rich. At least you changed right. That's the important thing."

"Thanks! I really appreciate the comfort. I guess you're right though. People can change and I did."

"It's alright. Wanna take me around?"

"Sure. So, this right here is the middle of the school with the cherry blossom trees and the water foundation. They say that if you throw a penny in the fountain, what your heart desires most will come true."

"Oh really! Then let's try it!"

"If you want to, but honestly that's probably just a rumor."

"Oh come on, trying it won't kill you!"

"Oh alright. Just this once."

So then we walked to that clear fountain and threw a penny and made a wish. I wished that I could live the rest of my life peacefully with my loved ones. I won't be caught up with Chao Feng anymore.

"So, what's your name?"

"Oh, it's Micheal. You?"

"I'm Ning Su Yu, you can just call me Su Yu though. But wow, an English name, you do seem like a foreigner."

"Well, just a little bit. My mother's half British"

"That explains that brown hair and amber like eyes. You look good."

"Awww, heheh. Thanks. You look reallyyyy beautiful though."

"Well—"

Then at of the corner of my eyes, I see Chao Feng and Cheng Yin walking over to us. All I could see is that sharp glare coming from him. I tried not to tremble, recalling my death. So, I tired standing closer to Micheal. His warmth kind of made me feel comforted enough to stand straight.

"Oh, is this your new boyfriend, Ning Su? He's cute. I'm happy you moved on from Chao Feng." said Chang Yin. I knew she was just trying to provoke me.

I saw Chao Feng's glare deepen. Does he hate me that much?

"How's that any of your business, Chang Yin?"

"Don't be rude Ning Su. Cheng Yin just cares about you. But why are you dating now? You're still in high school, wait till you graduate. I don't want you failing class because of a boy." said Chao Feng.

"Hehe—look who's talking. Aren't you dating Chang Yin right now? What right do you have to lecture me?" I said sarcastically with a glare.

The next second I saw his frown replacing his glare, as he took in what I said.

"I'm not—"

Before hearing what he has to say, Cheng Yin pulled him along and said, "Let's not bother them Chao Feng. Let them be."
