9: Another Accident

Saturday was here, and I've decided to just stay home and thinking about what's going on.

This time, things are going differently than expected. In my last life, Chao Feng would've already distanced himself from me, but this time, something changed. Was it my attitude that caused a butterfly effect?

Not that I cared that much; as long as I'm alive and well, that's all I cared about.

"Su Yu, time for breakfast! We made your favorite century egg porridge and red bean buns!" my mother called.

"Really!? Thank you so much mom! I didn't get to see you this whole week, I missed you so much! Where's dad?" I exclaimed.

"Oh, your dad's just out golfing with his friends. Don't bother, let him enjoy his weekend break. But I do have something planned for us! The Chao family invited us over for some tea; they've brought back some rare tea from England and wants to have some. So, you better dress nicely ok? We are leaving at 12pm." my mother said excitedly.

Ughhhh, why is it that in this life time, I have to see him everywhere. Not only in school, but now during the weekends???!!
So I tried to wiggle out of this by saying, "Mommmmm...I'm tired from school can I please stay home!!! I promise I'll go next time!" while pulling one of her hand, saw using my body back and forth like a child.

"Nonsense! When Carl picked you up, you seemed totally fine. Don't try to wiggle your way out of this young lady. Hurry up and go get dressed or I'll deduct your allowance!" as my mom made her way to her room.

"Fineeeee. I'll go. Humph." I mumbled as I made my way towards my closet. I chose a light flowly blue dress that goes up to my mid thighs. Then I grabbed a pair of white flowered flats to match.

When my mom saw, her face beamed brightly.

"Ohhh honey! You look so cute. You used to never wear dresses! Now look at you!"
as when look up up and down.

"Mommmm, let's just go ok!"

By the time we where there, it was only 1:00pm. The shine was super bright and the wind was just right.

As we walked towards the main house, I saw the huge garden in the back, with a maze made out of grass and some fountains. There where also tables and chairs to enjoy some tea and snacks.

Chao Feng's mother saw us and got up to meet us midway.

"Ohhh Ning Xia, I haven't seen you in so long. How's it going?" exclaimed Chao mother as she excitedly hugged my mother.

"It's so good to see you! My, my you are looking younger and younger each time I see you, Chao Qin!" my mother enthusiastically said as she returned the hug.

At the corner, standing behind Chao mother, Chao Feng stood staring straight at me.

My mother and his mother saw, then turned towards their attention to us.

"Well, Ning Su Yu, young lady. You grew up to be so beautiful! Why don't you run along with Chao Feng? Since you haven't been here in so long, why not let him reintroduce you around the garden?"

I was going to reject politely when I saw my mother glaring at me from the corner. I knew she was going to beat my ass and give me an earful when we get home. I signed and then gave Miss Chao a gentle smile and said sure.

When I looked at Chao Feng, he reached out his hand and gave me a empty look.

Miss Chao then said jokingly, "Oh don't mind him Ning Su, I don't know why, but he just grew up and became so quiet. Maybe you can make him smile again."

My mouth almost twitched and a curse almost left my mouth, as I tried not to look at him. So, I just gave them another smile and walked right along, as I saw my mother and his mother settle down for some girly gossip.

I heard the gentle footstep following behind me, and I took a peak behind me, and our eyes met for a slip second before I turned my head back around, blushing. I'm sure I saw a slight smirk making its way on his face. Just thinking about ti made me wanna punch him.

I stopped abruptly, turned around and said, "Can you stop following me?"

He then looked up and met my stare saying, "My mother asked me to accompany you."

I gave a cold sneer, crossed my arms and said, "I don't care, it's not like she'll know. Just leave. I know you don't even wanna see me."

He then looked at me again, but this time with a deep flint in his eyes. Something that was never there before. He but his lips, looking like he wanted to say something. I waited for him to say something. But silence.

I turned around and was going to leave when he yelled wait. But I quickened my steps, but suddenly he pulled me into his embrace.

My face flushed with anger and embarrassment, and I tried to pull myself out from his arms and yelled, "What the fuck are you doing?"

He suddenly let go again and I stumbled back, almost falling.

His face turned cold again with a deep glare. "Nothing," he said.

I was confused. Why didn't I ever notice he was just so two faced?

But I also got pissed. How dare he say all these mean things to me. Then suddenly acted all nice and warm again. Then push me away like I forced myself on him. What the fuck?

I lost my rationality and gave him a hard push. His eyes opened in surprise and he fell backwards.

But then I saw that right behind him was a water foundation made of stone. Shit! What have I done??!!

I saw him falling slowly into the fountain as his head hit the stone. I heard a muffled thud and my face paled.

I quickly tried pulling him up while calling out for help.

"Mom, mom. Please help me! Mom!" as tears streamed down my face.

Was he going to die? There was blood all over, dying the water and his clothes.

Chao Feng's mother, my mother, and the maids came rushing over.

"Oh honey! What happened?" said my mother, as she covered their mouths in shock.

The maids helped me pull Chao Feng onto the grass as Miss Chao looked at him and said , "Hurry, hurry call Doctor Kyle right now!" She then turned towards me and said, "Oh Ning Su, what happened? How do he fall in?"

I looked down guiltily and said, "I — accidentally pushed him and he fell into the fountain. I'm so sorry Miss Chao, I'll make it up to you. You can hit me and beat me up. I'm so sorry!"

She looked at me, sighed and said, "When he wakes up, you are going to apologize to him. If he forgives you, then I'll let bygones be bygones."
