Chapter 19:

'A facade, a brittle wall was built but it was not enough to protect me.'

Luna's POV:

"No!"

"Shhhh..... Luna, I'm here. It's just a dream, I won't let anyone hurt you. I'm here, it's okay." Seungmin's voice hushed my panicked state, waking up because of a nightmare.

I opened my eyes and saw Seungmin sitting beside me.

I looked around and figured out that he took me home.

I felt his hands wipe my tears that I didn't even know was there.

"You have nightmares?" He softly caressed my hair.

I just nodded my head, remembering the dream.

It wasn't a dream, it was the reality.

"Have you gotten any news about Yeonjun yet?" I asked, sitting up.

He sighed, shaking his head while looking down.

As if the world heard what I said, my phone rang.

I was scared that bad news may come again, I picked up.

"Hello?" I asked cautiously.

"Darling, how are you? Are you okay? You haven't been answering my texts." Mom's voice was filled with worry.

I sighed, relieved.

"I'm fine, mom. I was sleeping." I answered.

"Well, check the messages I sent." She hanged up.

I ignored her words, planning to do it later.

I looked at Seungmin who was plainly staring at me.

"Thank you, Min. You took me home again." I smiled.

"Always." He smiled back.

I stood up, getting out of the bed.

"I'm going to check on Yeonjun. Do you need something? You have to go to work, right?" I looked over my shoulder.

"I'll go home first. Be careful." Was the last thing he said before rushing outside the place.

I quickly got ready, eager to go to the hospital.

Walking to the room, nerve-wracking footsteps was heard.

Passing by different hallways.

I stopped at the room, noticing the door was slightly opened.

I was about to go in when I heard voices talking inside.

"What the heck are you trying to do? You worried me so much." Mira practically shouted.

"I'm sorry. I'll be careful next time." I heard Yeonjun answer.

As curiosity came in, I peeked inside the small gap.

Yeonjun was connected to various wires and strings. Mira is sitting on a chair placed beside Yeonjun's hospital bed.

Silence engulfed the room, the two were staring at each other.

Yeonjun's hand made it's way to Mira cheek, pulling her close before placing a sweet kiss on top of her lips.

My eyes widened at the scene, straightening back my posture, I stepped back from the door.

"Oh geez. I already know that's about to happen." I muttered, making my way out of the hospital.

My heart shattering for the hundredth time.
Carelessly stepping outside, with familiar tears forming in my eyes.

I walked to who-knows-where, trying to clear my mind.

A honk stopped my thoughts.

I looked at the direction and saw a car heading towards me.

Tensed in the spot, I was frozen.

With the vehicle getting closer, a hand grabbed mine and pulled me aside.

I close my eyes, startled at the sudden motion.

"I told you to be careful didn't I?"

I felt a hand resting on the back my head and another on my waist.

I realized that I was in Seungmin's embrace.

I flushed at the contact. He pulled away and stared into my eyes. "You're going to work with me. Come on." He held my hands tightly before pulling me with him.

I followed him, processing what just happened.

Emotions are so overwhelming.

I promise that the next chapters will get better. I'm just tired.
