"What is wrong with you?" I blurted in frustration. "It's just a cake and what do you need it for anyway besides serving to your freaking guests?"
"I have plans for it."
I can't with this guy. A billionaire being unnecessarily frugal is the worst thing. I sighed again and jogged my way back using the elevator since I'm already busted. However, the automatic lift won't go up despite me pushing the life out of the fifth floor button.
The reason showed up as soon as I let it go.
"Are you serious right now?"
"Why? Can't I ride the elevator with you?"
"Why don't you just leave me alone?" I stepped out and pushed the close button to get him out of my sight before Raine catches us on an act that could break our relationship apart.
Now I'm back on manual mode. Fudge. I'm still hungry and those flights of stairs will be the death of me. I'm gonna get some air instead. I thought. Since it's peaceful outside, I took a walk at the garden. The flowers are in full bloom, with an unusual spiral rainbow design, consisting of all shades of roses.
"Beautiful."
I rolled my eyes at the low, almost a whisper male voice coming right from behind and immediately thought it was Alucard again. I turned around to slap his face and knock some sense at him but it was a different individual.
"Oh my god I'm so sorry!" I quickly caressed the pearly-white cheek I hit with all my might and explained the stalker situation I am currently having, minus the name of the person.
"I'm fine." The silver-head smiled and held my hand, I felt relieved that it was warm, unlike Alucard's overall body temperature. "You don't have to worry about that now. You're totally safe here."
That's what you think.
"I beg your pardon?"
"Um... did I speak my mind?" I laughed nervously. "I was thankful to be given a chance to live here but I'm still contemplating if I'd better leave—"
"Please don't!" He instantly grabbed the edges of my shoulders and looked at me straight in the eye, "I'm like you, who have been given the opportunity to stay and study for free when Madam Raine almost hit me with her big bike a month ago." He scratched his nape awkwardly for some reason and thank goodness he filled my thirst for more information or I'm gonna think about it for the rest of the night. "I'm a transfer student. But I got tricked and lost my bag. I was chasing the snatcher when she showed up at the corner lot."
"I... see." I clamped my fingers on his right wrist and we shook hands, "I'm Raine's friend. You can call me (Y/N)."
"I'm Soma." He finally moved his hands to return the gesture, "... Madam Raine told me about you last night when we're having dinner. I'm excited to meet you because I rarely get to talk with other people especially on weekends, because she and Sir Alucard usually go on a date for the whole day.
"Why is that?" I asked curiously. He paused and his light-brown eyeballs dilated, "I-I mean the servants. Are they not allowed to befriend their masters?"
"Oh. Probably. They're actually nice, however, they seem to be very busy with a lot of things. I think the most I've seen my own butler were the times he calls me for my meal."
"Master Soma, I'm afraid you aren't supposed to wander outside at night. It's quite dangerous." The tall, middle-aged butler averted his stern gaze on me after Soma looked at me worriedly. "Ms. (Y/N), I suggest you go back to your bedroom too, before you get yourself in trouble."
"Let's go (Y/N)." Soma offered his hand but I declined politely.
"I think I'll stay around here for the meantime. Don't worry, I'll be fine." I assured him. "I've slept so long, it's impossible for me right now."
He nodded and followed the butler inside, and the deafening silence came back. The air started to get chilly so I had to hug my robe tighter and searched for a bench to sit on. I was about to take a snapshot of the mesmerizing and fragrant flowers using my phone when I caught a glimpse of a shadow across the garden. I zoomed the camera on it's limits and captured the human figure standing at the other exit with the help of the flash to get a better exposure.
However, when I checked the recent photos, the person wasn't there. I was so sure I caught that dark haired creep in act but he disappeared on both. I turned around and flinched at the sight of my own maid, looking pale and sickly. "Are you alright?"
"Ms. (Y/N)... you shouldn't have left your room. Master Alucard won't be able to help you out here..."
