Reader Pov

The blond man holding my hand stared on me in awe and it made me very uncomfortable. I can see the confusion within his golden eyes and yet I don't know how react to that since my mind is completely blank right now and no matter how hard I try to remember, I have no recollection of his face, nor this place.

The plain white surroundings gives off a hospital vibe and the more I ran my curious gaze around, all the more the theory that I'm getting some treatment screams at me.

"I'm your husband. My name is Alucard and yours was (Y/N)." He simply replied and held my hand gently. It wasn't warm as I thought it would be and it sent sparks within my core.

"What... happened to me?" I whispered. I'm starting to worry that I didn't just lost my memory but my legs as well. He looked at me so intently, it's causing my heart to palpitate like crazy. His long lashed almond eyes are so pretty, I couldn't take my gaze away even if the doctor just knocked on the door and excused himself from coming in to check my vitals.

"Doctor, she doesn't remember who she is." Alucard spoke to the old man and requested some advice on what to do about it.

"Her vitals are normal but having a mild concussion usually needs time for the brain to heal on it's own." He smiled and touched the bandage wrapped around my forehead. "This is usually temporary. Forcing memory to return is the worst you can do. It will come back but you have to give it some time to recover first."

"I see." Alucard sighed softly and thanked him. "When can we go home?"

"As soon as she doesn't feel dizzy while standing or walking." He gestured for me to try to sit and they both supported my back to rise. "If something hurts, please let me know."

"I'm fine."

"Good. You will have to rely on pain killers for a certain amount of time and come back here for monthly checkup." He scribbled something on a black clipboard and let Alucard sign at the bottom.

"W-wait, am I allowed to go home right now?" I asked nervously. It's not like the idea wasn't good, but the problem is I'm quite scared to go somewhere else with him, although I don't understand why. "I mean... shouldn't I stay a little while longer here?"

"Of course—" the doctor immediately backpedaled when Alucard gave him a quick glance, "... I-I think it's better for you to take a rest in the comfort of your home. The hospital bill could rise if you stay longer than three days. Especially when you don't carry a health care insurance."

I eventually agreed, although I can't shake the doubt about my husband. There's this air in him that's puzzling my entire being.

"Can you tell me what happened?" I inquired, the moment the doctor left the room to get his staff to compute the bill. I figured I'll base his traits and attitude on how he'll answer my questions.

"We were driving when a truck hit our car near a cliff. You almost fell because you weren't wearing your seatbelt." He stated that so calmly I got even more confused. "It's our official holiday voyage after getting married."

"We just got married?" My eyes widened at him. I'm not wearing a ring and neither did he.

"We got it resized. The jeweler promised to add your birthstone for the inconvenience their new staff has caused."

I sighed deeply to calm myself down. Alucard's not even blinking and there's not a sign that he's lying. Everything so far are very suspiciously perfect but my head is beginning to ache for thinking too much.

"Wait here. I'll look for a place to stay for the night and call the car insurance company." He caressed my left cheek before leaving and that sweet gesture instantly washed my uncertainty down the drain.

"Be careful." I mumbled to myself and surprisingly, he caught it and smiled back. It took him awhile so I got worried if he really was fine after what happened. We both experienced the same accident and perhaps the trauma just hit him slower.

I pushed myself to stand and my knees wobbled a little. However, the pain was bearable than I thought, although it's probably better to walk with support, just to be sure I won't trip on my way to the door. Fortunately, the wall was only a meter away and it helped me reach the goal faster.

As soon as I opened the door to peak outside, I caught a glimpse of a muscular, bearded, brunet man with blood trickling down half of his face. He was holding a chain of some sort that has a handle on one side and a sharp blade on the other.

I gasped when he grab ahold of the doctor's collar and asked if I was being treated in this hospital. The elder bravely lied and yet the stranger somehow didn't believe him. Something tells me I had to hide, so I quickly locked the door and raised the glass window to escape.

However, a sharp pain shot in my temple and it got me dizzy for a moment. The mysterious and dangerous man was now knocking at the door. It was gentle at first, then became rougher by the second. I had no choice but to crawl towards the corner and insert myself in the narrow closet.

I flinched at the door getting wrecked and the guy cursing left and right. Glass shattered to pieces and I had to bite my lower lip to control the extreme fear that's overpowering my whole body, making me tremble so much in a cramped space.

What am I gonna do...? Alucard where are you...?
