Reader Pov

"Thank you for this opportunity, really, but I don't think I can live here. The shop needs me and I tend to get homesick very easily." I tried to explain in the most logical way without looking on the owner of the property but as soon as the smell of the food reached my nose, I got distracted and my empty stomach gave me away.

"Are you sure you want to go home? There's nothing in the fridge remember?" Raine smirked and ordered the maid to prepare the table for us. "Don't tell me you're gonna refuse to eat your favorite dish? I have it cooked specifically for you." She added and helped pull the chair for me.

"Oh... alright." I sighed in defeat. "Thank you Raine and M-Mr. Alucard." Raine choked on her saliva and giggled, "He's too young to be called like that. Alucard's still eighteen like us."

My jaws locked in awe at that revelation. Alucard does look young but not that young and he doesn't sound like a teenager. I apologized and lowered my head in embarrassment. But how was he a doctor if the practice could take ten to fourteen years?

"My man is a genius," Raine answered my question as if she has read what's going on in my mind. "He had an early start because when he took a college exam in elementary, he passed with flying colors."

This is bad. I thought as Raine began blabbering about everything positive about Alucard and I can't keep myself from admiring his achievements.

"That's... amazing." I commended as I glanced at him. He was wearing a sleek, dark grey suit and seemed to be too good to be real. Now that I had properly checked him out, the more admiration grew inside, which I couldn't eradicate as quickly as possible.

Catching his piercing stare was too much to bear so I lowered my head and put my concentration on the delicious food in my large square plate.

"Eat a lot (Y/N). You'll gonna need it." Alucard was sitting at the right side of a long, sturdy and bare wooden table, next to Raine's position. My intuition says his concern has double meaning, however, it would be rude to respond based on my assumptions.

"Um... thanks." It's really awkward to be polite, considering what I just went through. Thankfully, Raine had a new topic about their upcoming vacation, to keep him busy. I loved the meal but it's hard to swallow something that came from a person  whom was blatantly rowing two boats at the same time.

As soon as the last serving has reached my throat, I've immediately excused myself and asked to be led by one of the maids to my new bedroom. "Sorry Raine, I just... needed some rest."

"It's fine, silly." She smiled and ordered the youngest redhead to be my personal maid. The slender girl brought me to the fifth floor's farthest room, specifically the fifth room from the staircase and it's in the middle of this mini-castle.

"Good lord... I think I just dissolved everything I ate earlier..." I mumbled to myself. My knees are shaking and I needed to take a breather prior to stepping into the room.

"Forgive me ma'am, I thought you'd prefer the stairs rather than the elevator because Madame Raine likes to jog all the way to the first floor every morning."

Oh. Right. I mentally sighed. Old habits never dįe huh?

"Probably next time, when I've totally recovered." I forced a smile and followed her into the wide room, yet lacking with interior furnitures I've always seen in the magazines. Like huge paintings and over-the-top  sofas and entertainment showcase. There's a bathroom at least, added to the double bed with white comforter and one lamp table on it's left side. It's very... unusual to billionaires like him.

"Ms. (Y/N), if you ever need something, please do not hesitate to call me using that small bell atop the side table.

I frowned at her and she looked at me with confusion in her forest green eyes.

"Um... can you actually hear the bell? I don't mean to sound rude but the mansion had like five floors and—"

"No worries Ma'am." She spoke with confidence, "I assure you I will never miss it and shall come to your aid within a minute."
