Reader Pov

I looked at my surroundings to check if everything have been frozen, only to catch a glimpse of the fear and disgust at the spectators' facial expressions. I couldn't take the blame from the act I have no idea I committed, so the only reasonable way to do was to run away as fast as I could.

I dashed like my life depends on it and left those stupid idiots to rot out there because they are both selfish and inconsiderate. I pushed myself to the limit and just when my legs are about to give up, a car almost hit me and the shock made me fall on the asphalt ground, a couple of streets away from the scene of the crime.

"H-hey! Are you alright Miss?!" A tall man with pale silver-gray hair cut into a bob, pale blue-green eyes and light bronze skin dressed in pair of slick midnight blue suits approached me, while cutting a phone call to help bring me to a hospital but I refused.

"I'm alright." I let out a smile to assure him and walked by myself towards the back of his black sedan. "Please just get me out of here because there are explosions happening out there and I-I'm scared..."

"Y-yeah. Of course." He immediately went back into the driver's seat and started the engine. "What's your name?"

"R-Raine." I stuttered for lying and I cursed myself for it, hoping he didn't notice.

"Hi Raine, you can call me Hector and don't worry, you're safe now. I'll send you home just show me the way."

"Um... can you please head to the train station instead?" I pleaded because there's no safe place in this city once the cops and the government sweep the entire area to catch the perpetrators, especially when there are so many witnesses to testify.

"Are you sure?"

"Yeah, I was just... a tourist here and planned on going back to my relatives when the taxi I was riding on has been pulled over by the heavy traffic.

"Alright but I doubt we can reach the nearest station in time for the last train. It's less than half an hour—"

"Please..." I held his forearm and begged inches away from his handsome face. I didn't really care so it didn't affect me that much but apparently, he does.

He cleared his throat and sighed deeply. "Fine. But you have to put your seatbelt on because I have to race against time."

I finally sighed in relief and hoped he was too preoccupied to realize I was running towards the opposite direction of the train station which rendered my story invalid.

Lucky me we arrived at the spot without any trouble. However, as if my luck has ran out again, the guard announced that the last train has departed. It felt like my heart sank into a pulp and I can't breathe.

I never thought I'd pass out due to extreme stress and that the stranger I've met will actually help me until I opened my eyes to an unfamiliar yet fairly wide room.

It was cozy with all the earthy wallpaper colors and the paintings of different sizes boast high quality with the 3D representation of different injured animals, being exceptionally lit by the soft rays of the sun coming from the large glass windows with rolled up light-orange blinds.

I searched for anyone but the room was empty besides the necessities like the fluffy white bed and entertainment showcase, all in dark brown shades.

"Good morning." I nearly twisted my neck in surprise upon seeing the guy last night's cheerful smile, tray of food on his hands with aromas that stirred the excitement in my stomach so much, the sounds it produced actually embarrassed the hell out of me.

He only chuckled and placed the tray of garlic buttered toast and crispy bacon slices with a cup of brewed coffee over the desk nearby. I slowly raised my body up to sit when I found out that I'm wearing a loose white shirt that was just enough to cover my lower privates without anything inside.

I screamed then tugged the blanket to hide my triggered nipplęs and goosebumps. Hector apologized and explained what happened.

"I didn't mean to undress you without your consent but your clothes were full of dried blood so I thought you were injured but I swear I never did anything else apart from wiping your belly and changing your clothes."

I choked on my reply. I completely forgot I had those and I'm extremely worried he might suspect me to the point he'll call the police.

"I promise you're safe here." He spoke as if he has read my mind. "You can trust me."
