*Juliet's pov*
"Detention? Seriously?" I heard Hayes's mom yell from upstairs.
We lived with Elizabeth, because Chad lived in another house.
"I'm sorry, mom." I heard Hayes say.
"You should be. You're grounded. Give me your phone." She yelled, and I heard Hayes groan.
This is all my fault. If I wasn't here maybe this school year could've turned out differently.
I heard Hayes come up and he opened the door. He slammed it shut.
"Hayes, I'm sorry." I sighed. He nodded.
"Come over here." He said, opening his arms for me to hug him.
I wrapped my arms around his waist, and he held me close to him.
"This isn't your fault. Liam doesn't understand how much I love you." He said.
"Yeah, I know. I love you too." I said.
"We can't let other people come between us. Okay?" He said.
"Okay." I said.
"No, promise me no one will get between us." He said, as he grabbed me by the shoulders.
"I promise, Hayes. No one will get between us." I smiled, and he kissed me on the lips softly.
"Good, listen I've been dying to watch this movie-" Hayes started to say, but my phone went off. I grabbed it and answered. Someone wanted to FaceTime.
"Hello?" I said.
"Juliet?" Lesley said.
"Yeah?"
"I'm here with Matt and-"
"JULIE!" Matt cheered as he jumped on top of Lesley.
"Ow." I winced, even though I didn't experience any of that pain.
"Matt, get off. I can't breathe." Lesley gasped. Matt rolled off of her and laid down beside her. Hayes was laying down next to me.
"So, how are you guys?" I asked.
"Great!" Matt smiled.
"Yeah, I just landed and went to Taylor's house. We're just hanging around." Lesley said.
"I can't believe I'm here while you're there." I said.
"Same!" Lesley said.
"Listen, when you come back to New York you better stop by here so I can congratulate you personally." I said.
"Congratulate her for what?" Matt asked.
I looked and Lesley, then at Hayes, and then at Matt.
"Well, I have to go-" I said as an excuse.
"No, Juliet. Why do you have to congratulate Lesley?"
"Because I got into the high school?" She shrugged.
Matt gasped, and he hugged Lesley.
"Lesley! That's amazing! Why didn't you tell me sooner?" He asked.
"I wanted it to be a surprise." She said.
"Well, I actually have to go this time. I'll talk to you guys tomorrow." I waved goodbye.
"Bye Juliet! Bye poo-bear!" Matt waved.
"Poo-bear? That's a new one." I smirked and Hayes groaned.
"Okay. Bye!" We all said simultaneously, and I ended the call.
I put my phone on the nightstand and I curled up next to Hayes.
"Do you think school will suck as bad as it did today?" I asked.
"I bet it'll suck at least ten times worse." He said.
"Okay. I'll take that bet." I said.
"Loser buys the winner food." Hayes said.
"Prepare to lose." I smirked. I pecked Hayes's cheek and closed my eyes.
"Good night, poo-bear." I laughed.
"Don't call me that." He said, but laughed with me. He kissed my forehead.
I knew I was going to fall asleep soon when the last thing I heard were soft snores.
//
"Babe, it's time to get up." Hayes shook me as we both got out of bed.
"Can we just skip school?" I said, and Hayes laughed.
"You and I both know that I'll get into more trouble than I already am." He said, and I nodded.
"Yeah, okay." I sighed.
I got up to get some clothes, but Hayes stayed in bed.
"Are you going to get up?" I asked.
"In a little bit, babe." He said.
I went to the bathroom to change, wearing black jeans, a baseball tee, and vans.
I grabbed my backpack and walked downstairs.
Hayes wasn't down yet, so I decided to look in the fridge to find something to eat.
I grabbed some yogurt and ate it as I watched some TV.
Once I finished, I threw it away and started to brush my teeth. After, I went downstairs and waited for Hayes to get ready.
We had to leave for the bus in five minutes.
"Hayes? Are you ready?" I yelled.
There wasn't a response. I walked upstairs and into his room.
"Hayes?" I said. He was still in bed.
"Hayes, get up we have to leave." I said.
He opened his eyes and he got out of bed. He kissed my cheek.
"Babe, I can get ready in five minutes." He said, taking off his shirt.
I started to blush. I couldn't stop staring at his abs.
"You like what you see?" He smirked, and I rolled my eyes.
"You wish." I said, and he laughed.
He put on a shirt, then some pants, and put on his shoes.
"Okay, let's go." He said as he grabbed his backpack.
We went out the door, and we made it to the bus in time.
We went to our seats and I put my bag in front of me.
"Let's make this bet more interesting." I said, taking out my earbuds.
"How?"
"Whoever has the worse day. Like bad grades, fights, anything, has to pay for dinner. Deal?" I said.
"Deal." He said, as he took one of my earbuds and put it in his ear.
I started to play music, and soon enough we arrived at the school.
We got out from the bus and entered the school.
"The bet starts now." He says.
"I'm winning poo-bear." I smirked.
"It's on, Julie."

A/N: sorry this chapter kinda sucks. I keep apologizing lol sorry.
Do you ever just cringe when you hear your voice on tape? It's kinda like re-reading your old writing. It's really weird.
Guys, literally my biggest fear is the day when Hayes reads (dirty) fan fiction, and he'll stumble across mine. Ugh.Song suggestion of the day: Intro by the XX
I LOVE YOU GUYS SO MUCH YOU HAVE NO IDEA.
