"Oh, nasaan na si Sarah? Akala ko ba susunduin mo?" His manager asked him.
"Forget it, she's not coming," he stormed in his dressing room and sulked in one corner.
"Ha? Ano? Nagrehearse na kayo ng ilang beses a." His manager was wondering.
"She won't come. Let's just remove what we're supposed to sing from my final set list." He said while putting on his headphones.
His manager cannot understand his change in mood. Earlier that day he was so happy and giddy and now he's frowning, brows furrowed, and if looks could kill, his gaze could have killed everyone in the room.
'Something's wrong,' his manager thought. His manager approached him in the corner where he was sulking. "Dude, whatever that is, I hope isantabi mo muna yan and magconcentrate ka sa concert mo. This is the last leg of your concert. Whatever it is na gumugulo sa iyo, channel it in your rehearsals and performances."
"Thanks man!" He replied shortly. He knew he had been a pain in his manager's ass for the past months. 'Was I too careless? Was I too fast? I thought we understood each other, I thought we felt the same,' he was talking to himself.
He finished his rehearsals though he was in a bad mood. He followed his manager's advice. Though he was so jealous and hurting deep inside, he channeled it in his rehearsals. All the pain and hurt that he is feeling, he poured it out in his rehearsals. Every shout, every jump and every run on the stage are his ways of trying to get rid of the pain, if not ease the pain.
His team respected his silence. He was not in the mood to engage in any sort of conversation. He just replies curtly whenever asked on anything about the concert.
He saw her calling but he switched off his phone.
-------
She has been trying to contact him. He told her he's gonna pick her up but it's already afternoon and she hasn't heard from him. She was thinking that maybe he was caught up in rehearsals. But she was wondering why he was not answering her calls. Since his message to her that morning that he'll be picking her up, she didn't receive any single message thereafter.
She was trying to contact Chris and Rachel who's gonna play as front act in his concert but they were not also answering.
She's getting frustrated. "What's wrong with everyone today? Is everyone so busy with rehearsals?" She was asking herself as she was fetching her car keys.
Since rush hour is already approaching, she figured, she better drive to the concert venue. She was about to start her car when she noticed that her car is no longer starting. She attempted to start her car engine several times but to no avail it won't start.
"Asher naman! Ngayon pa talaga!" She was scolding herself as she got out from the driver's seat.
She opened the bumper of her car as she tried to check what's the problem this time. And when she checked, her battery died. Her thoughts were racing on what to do. She doesn't have any idea how to jump start her car and it will take time if she will call the auto car care company.
Realising that she's running out of time, she closed the bumper of her car and decided to book an Uber. But because it is a Friday and it is already rush hour, she had a hard time booking an Uber, in fact she was not able to book an Uber. She was standing in her driveway when her old maid neighbor called her.
"Hey Asher! Where's your handsome boyfriend?"
"Uh, what?" She was clueless on the old maid's question.
