"Family" Day

Macy's POV

I can't believe Sophia is turning 7 today! She's been living with me and Nash for a couple of months now and she has already adjusted with all the things that has happened and I couldn't be happier for her. Did I also mention that Nash moved in with me? Well he did a few weeks after Sophia did. He wanted to be with her more and I really don't mind because at least I get to be with him more also. Aside from Sophia's birthday today, Hanna and Cam's wedding is coming up too, next week exactly and I am so excited for their wedding because I am there wedding planner and one of their closest friend. But today my focus is on Sophia. She's just a simple girl actually. She doesn't ask much for things that she likes but we still buy her things, we can sense that she's just shy to ask us anything. But for her age she's so mature which is so amazing, she's basically an adult stuck in a 7 year old's body.

Today, Nash and I decided to take Sophia to Disneyland. That's like the only place she'd been telling us that she really wanted to visit except me and Nash didn't had the time because we were both really busy these past few months but now that our schedules are free we took the opportunity.

I took a day off from work just for Sophia's birthday and because her birthday landed on a Friday I decided to check us in the Grand Californian Hotel at Disneyland. Just a little weekend getaway, we'd be staying there until Sunday. Me and Nash also needed the time off work because after this we'd be back to reality and we'll be busy again.

That's 3 days at Disneyland, I doubt that the inner kid in me won't be seen in those 3 days. I mean let's be honest here, I may be in my twenties but no one is too old for Disneyland. When Sophia knew that we were going to Disneyland she practically cried because of happiness, she gave me and Nash a big hug and thanked us probably a thousand times already. Seeing her smile makes me feel happy, even though she's not my real daughter, she's already has a special place in my heart.

"Good morning princess." Nash said to Sophia while she was rubbing her eyes cause she just had woken up.

"Morning birthday girl! I made pancakes for you." I smiled. "Ready for our big trip today?"

"More than you could ever imagine." She giggled.

Disneyland was only less than an hour from my place so we got there fast. I could see the excitement in Sophia's eyes, well actually in all of us. Knowing me and Nash are sometimes a kid at heart we definitely are ready for this adventure.

When we arrived, we immediately went to the hotel to check-in and get settled before going around Disneyland. It's a pretty big place and is really amazing to look at. It's so colorful and alive, day or night, like when you go here and you have too many thigs to worry about, you forget all of it, I mean that's what I felt honestly.

After a few minutes arriving at our hotel room I decided to take a bath before heading out to the theme park. Before closing the door I heard Sophia and Nash talking.

"Hawaii? Oh my god you are the best father ever!" She exclaimed. "But wait why are we going to Hawaii? It's not your birthday, not mine either, not Macy's also, so what's the occasion?"

"You see, Macy has a thing for going to the beach and there were so many times that she hinted me on taking her to Hawaii. And there's something big that's going to happen. So I want you to keep this between us and never tell her. We'll surprise her on the day of our departure, okay?"

"Yes dad. This is gonna be so much fun! I can't wait to see and swim with the dolphins omg!"

Okay, first it's not gonna be a surprise anymore because I found out but I'll just act like I didn't knew, I appreciate the effort though, second if he's taking me to Hawaii, and there's something that's gonna happen, could he be proposing to me? Oh dear God. I remember when we were younger I'd always tell him how much I love to be proposed at a beachfront. Wait what if he is going to propose, Jesus Christ, is this serious but I can't jump into conclusions yet because what if he isn't and I just assumed making me disappointed if he isn't going to propose to me there.

I tried to forget about what I heard and started my bath. It was relaxing as a matter of fact. Need to remind myself to take a nice long bath every once in a while because I surely need it.

After taking my bath, Sophia and Nash had already left for the pool leaving me all alone in the room. Since I haven't really had the chance to get some alone time for months now I decided to book myself one of the treatments at the spa inside the hotel. Went down the poolside first to inform Nash before having my spa treatment.

I saw them having so much fun together and it just makes me happy seeing them like that. Theire smiles are up to their ears. Nash is trying his best to make it up to Sophia for all the years he'd missed. I went near them and interrupted their play time.

"Is it okay if I leave you two with some alone time, like father-daughter bonding time while I enjoy myself at the spa? I can cancel if you want, I mean we planned on going to the theme park tomorrow but if you want it to be now then it's okay with me also." I asked.

"Oh hey babe. Spa? Uhmm yeah sure I guess I mean we're pretty much having a ton of fun here. We'll just see you later then?" Nash answered.

"Yeah sure, okay see you later."

They both gave me a kiss on the cheek before I left. It was that easy for them to get rid of me. Well I guess they're just having so much fun and I don't mind at all.

Nash's POV

As soon as Macy left us for her spa treatment, I told my plan to Sophia for our Hawaii trip. The excitement in her face was priceless. After a few hours of having fun by the pool we decided to head to our room to prepare for Sophia's birthday dinner

We held hands until we got to our room and it was probably one of the best moments I wouldn't forget on this trip. I appreciate all the effort Sophia had to make, with all the complications from me and her just meeting a few months ago and then her mothed turning herself in to the police and then moving in with us. She deserves the best of everything and I love my daughter so much, through the months that we've gotten to know each other, she's pretty much my mini girl version.

Around 7 when me and Macy saw each other again at the hotel restaurant.

"So how the spa babe?"

"Heavenly." She responded with matching facial expression. "Shall we have dinner?"

"We shall." Sophia answered.

In the midst of eating delicious food, Macy said the big question for Sophia that would either make this whole trip better or awkward and upsetting.

"So honey, Sophia, we talked to your mom a few days ago, and we have her permission to do what we are about to tell you."

"And she wishes you a Happy Birthday and wanted to give you this pendant." I added.

"Can you please just get to the point." Sophia said.

"What we're trying to say is that, would it be okay to you if we become your legal guardian, since your mom is going to be away for awhile, we all thought that its best for your dad and I will be your legal guardian."

She stared at us for a few seconds and then she stood up and walked behind us.

"This day just keeps on getting better." She said happily while hugging us both.
