It's a recording of me on the phone with Una and Thendo complaining about K.

"Well you don't have to work for him anymore because I will be partner and he will be gone", Thabang

What is he on about?
"I don't get it", I say

He smiles at me and take his phone in his hands.

"I don't want anyone finding about it, I'm serious guys. I told you about it because I was having a bad day and he had 99.9% contribution to it. Who knows what will happen if anyone finds out about it?", that's me again

It's a different conversation and it makes sense now, he bugged my desk.

"I have been going back and forth with these recordings trying to find out what the dirt is but I have a feeling whatever it is must be useful for me. Do you mind telling me?", Thabang is grinning at me

I'm being cornered, gracious Lord. I can't even say anything, I am saved by Xiluva who just popped up now.

"You are right on time", Thabang says as she enters
Wait what? She's not on time, she can't be on time.

"I'm glad I made it on time, hi Nondi" Xiluva now sitting on a chair next to me

"Nondi was about to tell me the dirt she has on K" Thabang

"I was saying that because I was angry, I don't have anything on...", Thabang cuts me

"Maybe I am not making this clear enough for you, we can do this and still be good or hate each other in the end. I hired you here although I know about your case, but I helped you out despite it" Thabang now serious

"Nondi you either cooperate with us or you can kiss this job bye bye and trust me it won't be easy getting a job with a criminal record especially murder" Xiluva

When did she become my enemy? I was with her while she cried over K, I also told her he is an ass and she should leave him alone. I didn't know it will turn this sour, especially if it has to do with my job.

"Even if I were to tell you, it's my word against his" I say

"That's why we are here" Thabang as if he's a savior

"What if there's another way? I can get something that he won't be able to defend himself from..."

"Nondi stop, he is the most careful man in this building apart from me. I have an opportunity of a lifetime and you are going to help me, I am not here to negotiate with you" Thabang

He is not the same man I know, he's always laughing and is a small talks kind of guy.

I turn to Xiluva
"What's in it for you?" I ask

"Not that it's any of your business but I will be third in command, you will be our Tax accountant and that will almost double your income. Now are you ready to talk?" she answers

I have been breathing so fast and I can hear myself, if I say anything I will be putting Dikeledi's Job and K's in jeopardy, even worse Xiluva will know that her best friend has been lying to her all this time. I have no guarantee I will have my job at the end of this, I don't trust both these people.

"He is sleeping with Dikeledi" I say

They are both quiet, I have my face down almost crying. I can't believe I am doing this, snitching of all things it's so beneath me
