Sitting up in bed, sipping on some tea, I tried to calm my nerves. Today was the final day of our court case and all I wanted was for it to be over with.

"Mmm."

Hearing him moan, I looked over at Aug who was still asleep. Laying on his belly, he shifted a bit before eventually hugging my legs.

"Babe?"

"Mmm?"

"Time to wake up."

"Ion want too."

"I know but we have too." I sighed.

Turning his head, he opened his eyes and just laid there. I knew he was in his feelings about today, but I know in my heart this will be OK.

"Baybeh." He called before placing a kiss on my exposed leg.

"Yes babe?"

"I was thinking. After today, how bout we take a lah trip."

"To where?"

"Ion know but I'll surprise ya." He smiled.

"I don't know babe. Gabe is still so young."

"Ya know my momma would more than watch him and Mirah."

Sitting there, I contemplated on it. I was at a point where although I was grateful for all the help around, I still wasn't comfortable with palm in off my children on others.

"Just think about it please baybeh. We need some time ta ourselves after this shit is over."

"I'll think about it."

"Thank you."

Finally getting up, he kissed my forehead before actually telling me good morning.

As he moved around the room, I sat there just watching him. I don't know what it was but I just loved seeing him.

"I love you too baybeh." He said while in the closet.

"Huh?"

"I said I love you too." He came out and kissed me. "Now get ready."

Smiling, I nodded and got up. My clothes were already laid out so I just decided to go check on the children. As I was about to enter Gabe's room, my mother came out hers.

"I'll get them, you go get ready." She patted me on my face.

"Mommy." I sighed.

"I know you're nervous so you just go calm yourself, everything will be fine."

Leaving me there, she went in and got things started. Reentering our bedroom, the shower was going. I had done my hygiene routine previously so I just went ahead and got ready.

By the time Aug was ready, I had breakfast done for him and everyone else.

"Y'all will be fine today OK." My mother spoke as we ate.

"I know we will." Aug smiled as he held my hand.

"Good."

"Ms. E can you talk ta ya daughta though?"

"Aug!" I whined.

"What's the matter?"

"I want us ta take a lah trip after this ta recenter ourselves and she'on want too."

"I never said that. I said I'll think about it."

"I don't see anything wrong with that and I certainly don't mind watching my grand babies."
