"How are you feeling?"

"My stomach has kind if settled." I looked at him.

Laying in bed because of bad morning sickness, I was exhausted. The frequency at which I was throwing up was crazy and regardless of what I took, it didnt settled my belly.

"You finished your club soda?"

"No." I mumbled.

"Shay thats the only thing thats working right now."

"Yea but it tastes nasty."

"I don't care. You need to drink it."

Mumbling, he walked out of the room and went to get me another one I assumed. Between my morning sickness and Alei's health scare, we were both on bed rest for a while.

"Here you go."

Rolling my eyes, I took it and place it on the bedside table.

"What time are you leaving?"

"At six. I'll have Caleb here before I leave."

"I still don't see why y'all didn't cancel that show."

"Can we not do this again?"

"You know I'm right. Like with everything that's going on with Alei, he could have canceled it."

"He couldn't OK. I've told you this. So just drop it!"

"You dont have to shout though." I sucked my teeth.

"Because we had this conversation already."

"Ok Devin."

Not bothering to say anything again, I shifted and got out of bed. Going into the bathroom, I cleaned up and did my routine.

"Another thing."

"What?"

"I don't want you taking on what's going on with Alei. I know you two got this weird connection but keep in mind you're pregnant."

"I know."

"All that attitude is uncalled for."

"Mhmm."

"I'm serious Shay-Ann. Drop the attitude."

"Weren't you leaving?" I side eyed him.

"So its like that? OK." He nodded.

Not saying anything, he walked out. Hearing the front door closed, I shrugged it off and went about my day.

Getting my phone, I facetimed Alei. Instantly picking up, she smiled.

"Are you coming over?"

"Of course. I was just checking to see if you were awake."

"Mhmm. I've been up since Amirah left."

"Your dropped her off to school?"

"No. August did before he left."

"OK. You want anything?"

"Ice cream. I already have cheese cake."

"OK cool."

Finishing get ready, I threw up one more time before taking my keys and heading out.

My best friend was at a point where she needed me more than before so I was going to be there regardless.
