Devin

"So yea, tonight we'll finish it off."

"Alright man."

"You sure dude got them dogs next door."

"Yup. He got them and they health too." He laughed.

"Good. Its time I put an end to this."

"I got you man."

As we finalized the plan for tonight, my phone went off. Smiling as I saw Shay's name I opened it.

SugarShay: Why I gotta come back to an empty hotel room?😐

:Why you acting like that. I'll be back in a minute.

Laughing, I just shook my head.

"That's your girl?" Darrel asked.

"Yea man. She just got back to the hotel and acting up."

SugarShay: Well you need to hurry up.😒

Shaking my head at how she was being, I just smiled and locked back my phone.

"But on a real bro. You got a beautiful daughter."

"Thanks man. She's my reason for living and I honestly don't know what I would have done if you didn't call me with this job."

"What mean?"

"Things been tough lately. With my moms not being one hundred percent and her mother basically abandoning her with me, I gotta be going hard you know."

"Man and why you ain't call me. You know I could have helped you out."

"I thought about it but shit this is my responsibility bro."

"And. You helped me out so many times, I'd drop shit for you and moms man. We family."

"That's why I'm grateful for this job. I was able to square off the bills for this place, handle my moms with her medication and get my baby girl and the house right."

"Bro you should have called me."

"Nigga you know my pride man." He laughed. "I rather go without to make sure they straight."

As we spoke some more, his moms came in and got his daughter.

"Devin Charles." She smiled.

"How you doing momma B?" We hugged.

"Boy I'm alive an breathing, that's good enough." She smiled. "I came to get my pudding right here to clean her up so she can have a good nap."

The way Sy'rai reacted when she so her grandmother made me smile. I started thinking about mines on the way.

"You know he got one on the way momma."Darrel smirked.

"I hope its not with one of the little fast ass girls in these streets."

"You know that ain't my type." I shook my head. "My girl's a good one."

"At least one of you have some sense."

"Really momma." Darrel cut his eyes.

"Yes really. You hit your head with that girl but my grand baby is the only good thing that came from her."

"Damn momma B." I laughed.

"But congratulations son."

"Thanks. You know I was just telling Darrel here that when y'all move out to the A, we gotta do a big dinner."
