Standing in the hallway, I listened to Alei as she gave Gabriel his bath. She was yet to agree on us going on a family trip but either way it was happening.

"Hey."

Gaining her attention as I entered the room, she smiled.

"Hey you."

Standing there i just couldn't help but stare at her. Gabriel always gave me a hard time when I gave him his bath, but for Alei he was an angel.

"What?" She looked up at me again.

"Nothing. Just observing." I shrugged.

"Can you pass me this towel please."

Looking to share the way pointing, I grabbed his hodded towel off the hook and passed it to her.

"So?"

"So?" She looked at me as she dried him before standing up.

"Yeen tell me yet if we can do the trip."

"Oh right. I forgot about that."

"I realized. So what do you say?"

"Sure. We can do it this weekend or next weekend." She smiled. "Where you had in mind though?"

"I was thinking an island but something private."

"Of course you were." She shook her head.

"Something wrong with that?"

"No. I'm just not surprised because I knows you."

"Oh." I nodded.

"By the way, I'm going to be with Shay and Jaz later tonight for a couple hours. So would you be able to watch Gabe?"

"I honestly can't deal with y'all and these lesbian sleepovers, but yea I can watch him and Mirah."

"Its not a lesbian sleepover, we just haven't seen each other in a while plus I'm not sleeping over."

"How come? Ya usually do."

"I have to go into the center early tomorrow and you don't have to watch Amirah. She has swimming today so my cousin will be picking her up as how they both go to the same swim classes."

"Oh."

"Yea."

"Well I can always get her from by your aunt and me her and Gabe can do something while you're out. I don't mind."

For some reason, Alei has been trying to keep me from dealing with Amirah. Like a lot of times when I've offered to take her somewhere or get her from a class, she would tell me its OK, she got it covered.

"You don't have too." She glanced at me.

"What's going on with you?"

"What do you mean?"

"Lately you don't want me doing anything for Amirah."

"What?"

"You know its true. Everytime I offer to pick her up from something or take her to something, you block me saying you have it covered."

"Because I do. Amirah is my responsibility. I'm not going to burden you with that."

"The fuck are you talking about?"
