Hearing the sound of her footsteps as she ran towards me I just laughed.
"Yes mommy?"
"Come let me do your hair so we can make it to church early for once please."
Nodding, she got me her hair products and sat.
"Mommy?" She patted my leg.
"Yes Amirah." I laughed as I part her hair down the middle.
"Can we go for French toast after church?"
"May we." I corrected her.
"That too." She giggled.
"Keep playing with me." I laughed. "But yes we can.
In her happy state, she sat there humming as I gave her two braids going back. Once I was finished, I tied her hair and sent her to change to have her bath.
Gabriel thankfully was still sleeping after that long night we had. Though I was sleepy, I didnt want to miss or be late again for church.
"Mommy can I wear this?"
Giving her my attention, I nodde when I saw what she was holding.
"Now hurry up."
Dropping her things on my bed, she came over to me and I got her ready.
"I want to dress myself."
"OK." I laughed as she dropped the towel on my bed.
Overseeing her as she put on her underwear and powdered her body before putting on her clothes, I just smiled as moved around independently.
"I love you so much." I hugged and kissed all over her.
"Mommy." She squealed.
In the midst of our excitement, Gabe woke up.
"Go get your shoes and a yogurt while I get your brother ready."
"Ok." She ran off.
"Hey big guy." I smiled as I got him. "Shh. Mommy sorry for waking you." I rubbed his hair.
Sitting on my bed, I nursed before giving him a quick bath and dressing him.
"Amirah keep an eye on him while I get ready please."
"Yes mommy."
Not wanting to leave them alone for too long, I moved quickly. Mirah was one to get into so many things at the wrong time and I didn't need any set backs.
Hearing my phone ringing, I ignored it as I showered. Once I was finished, I dressed and went out to see her with my phone.
"What are you doing Missy?"
"Nothing!" She gave it to me and ran off.
Checking my phone, nothing seemed out of the ordinary until I checked my logs to see Aug had called and she clearly answered it.
"Let's go Amirah." I just shook my head.
Once they were settled, we left and made our way to church.
"Next time bring my phone for me, you hear me?" I looked at her in the rearview.
"Yes mommy." She looked up.

Smiling at the fact that she finally got her french toast, I laughed.
