I arrived home after about 15 minutes. Ratter and Cruz were both quiet the whole ride back. I was gratefull with that since I wasn't really hoping on a conversation with them right now.
I quietly opened the front door, since I couldn't climb back up to my window. I walked through the door. the big hall was dark. The only light came from the moon shining through the big windows. I closed the door behind me and leaned against for a few seconds before I put my feet on the first steps of the stairs. I abruptly stopped when the light in the kitchen turned on. I heard heels on the marble floor. I let my head fall, I knew it was my mom. I had two options, 1: Run upstairs and deal with it tommorow, when Topper is with me. or 2: walk towards the kitchen, and deal with my mom now. Since the first option seemed safer. I went for that one. but I hesitated too long and before I could set my foot on the next step, my mom coughed. Pulling my attention to her. I knew she saw me and running wasn't an option right now.
I stopped on the stairs and waited for my mom to walk closer. She motioned for me to come to her, when she reached the middle of the hall. When I did, she looked at me up and down in disgust.
"Where were you." She calmy asked. There was one thing worse than my screaming mother, my mother being calm.
"I was- I was with aunt Lucy." I lied.
"Ohw really, well I called her she said you weren't there." She answered. I knew I couldn't go anywhere. I kept my mouth shut, not knowing what to say.
"I- I was with dad." I said, telling her the same lie I told uncle Cruz and Ratter.
I noticed her nostrils widen, she was furious. She might have loved dad, but talking about him, was something she highly forbade.
"You're grounded for an extra week, and I want your phone." She said.
"What. That's not fair."
"That's not my problem." She answered. "Phone." She said in a demanding tone.
I pulled my phone out of my backpocket and put it in her hand harshly. I turned around, and walked up the stairs. still furious at her. "Bitch" I muttered. apperantly a little too loud, since I heard her footsteps, on the stairs, fast and loud. Her eyes were filled with fury. I was never scared of my mom, but right now, what she would do was completely unpredictable. I knew it was my fault, everything that will happend now, it will be my fault.
I turned around as my mom reached the top of the stairs.
"What did you just say." I didn't get a chance to answer before her hand connected with my cheeks. My head got forced to one side. My body following slightly as I stumbled back. I lifted my hand towards my now burning cheek. My jaw felt numb, my hand was shaking in shock. My mom might not be a good person, but she would never hit me. At least that was what I thought. I expected to at least see a little bit of guilt. But instead I saw that her eyes were still burning with fury.
She walked towards me, clearly not satisfied with whatever she was trying to do. I stumbled back slightly, backing down with every step she took. The dull smell of alcohol finally reached my nose.
She was drunk. She made a fist with her hand. and in a split second, she connected it with my other cheek. Her knuckles dug into my skin. The taste of iron filled my mouth when a warm liquid filled my mouth. My small body fell to the ground. I pushed myself up on my hands and knees. I hoped she was done with whatever she was trying to do. She didn't look like it.
"Please, your drunk, don't do this." I begged. And Surprisingly I think it worked. My mother blinked a few times, before she turned around and walked into her room. I pushed myself up further. I stood in the hallway for a few second before I walked towards my room. A few tears managed to escape for my eyes. But I quickly wiped them away as I walked towards the bathroom. I looked in the mirror, she didn't do any damage really, It'll bruise for sure. But no cuts were made. I spit out the blood that was still pouring into my mouth. and washed my mouth with some water before I spat out the red stained water. I did that a few times, until I didn't taste any blood anymore.
I took one last look at my face. the two bruises that were forming on both of my cheeks. My eyes were red and puffy and so was my nose. My hair was a mess.
I didn't bother taking a shower since I figured I'd do that tommorow. I quickly slipped on some short and sports bra. And quicky slid under the warm covers. I thought about what just happend. but I couldn't seem to blame anyone else but me. I called her a bitch. I snuck out.
With that thought I fell asleep.

I woke up in the morning, by the sun that was shining through my curtains. My face was aching from the night before. And as soon as I touched the now bruised cheeks. I hissed, and pulled my hand away. I quickly showered and Put on some shorts and a simple t-shirt, under it I put on a yellow pastel bikini. I let my hair down. trying to cover up the bruises as much as possible. I also put on some make-up. which made the bruises almost invisible. I hesitated before going downstairs, but luckily my mom had something to do so she wasn't home.
I quickly grabbed some breakfast and brushed my teeth. Then I started my hunt for my phone. Since Topper wasn't home, and my mother wasn't either. I was free to look for it, without getting interupted.
After a good 30 minutes of searching. I figured she probable put the phone in the save - which I didn't have the code for - or took it with her. I gave up and sat on the counter. That was when I noticed a boat drive up to the dock. It was a familiar boat with an even more familiar blonde on it.I walked outside to ask what he was doing here. When he enthusiastically waved his hand above his head. Which caused me to chuckle slightly.
"You shouldn't be here you know." I stated.
"Where, your house?" He asked.
"Figure 8 in general, you know how my brother is. I think he'll be happy with you showing up at his place."
"But I'm here for you, I don't care about him." He said.
"You really think that is going to help the situation. He is really protective you know."
"Just get in the boat, and then I'll leave." He said.
"Can't, I'm grounded." I protested.
"That didn't seem to hold you back yesterday." He smirked, trying to get me on that boat. And it worked. it wasn't a good idea, but I didn't have much to lose did I.
