We Are Friends!

Raveena, with a very strange expression on her face stared at Disha who was talking to Karan. Disha looked at her and understood that she knew the new kid, knowing this she excused herself and said, "I'll catch up with you later new kid."

Where were you Raveena? I waited for you..!! Said Karan in a tensed voice.

"I had something to do, it's not that important. How do you know Disha?" said Raveena in a very calm tone.

"Who is Disha? The girl I was talking to?"

"Don't tell me you don't know her name!"

"I literally didn't ask her that!".

"Yeah! It's okay, I understand guys get lost in a girl's beauty and don't even realise that they didn't ask her name." Said Raveena in a taunting manner that exposed her feelings about Disha.

"It's not like that. Raveena, don't you think that the whole idea about breaking up is just stupid and that we should not lose something like this all of a sudden, I mean we have so many memories together, we were together almost all of our middle school." Said Karan with a hope that this would convince Raveena that breaking up is not the best idea, now that they are finally in the same school.

Raveena was the most beautiful girl of the school, her hair was black, long and straight with blue highlights at the end, her lips were red like a strawberry, and her small freckles would mark it's existence from far away, her eyes were brown as a chocolate and her nose was the perfect bulb and she had a mole on her chin (just the perfect size).

Raveena answered him in a very calm tone, "I have my maths class now, Can we talk about this later over coffee in the evening?".

"Yeah okay". Karan said in a disappointed tone.

As Karan was leaving with a frown Sid stopped him and said, "Yo man! What happened?."

"It's nothing."

"Let's go to the most beautiful spot of the school, you'll thank me for that." Sid said while putting his hand on Karan's shoulder.

"Yeah. Let's go!"

They went to the spot where cheerleaders would practice all day for their football team. They sat down in the grass and Sid offered Karan a chewing gum.

"Seriously dude? Chicks practicing? This is your favorite spot?". Said karan smiling.

"What can be more beautiful than chicks wearing short skirts, showing how flexible they can get." Said Sid laughing.

"You are crazy." Said Karan.

"It's my way of respecting flexible chicks... BTW why were you sad? did something happen?"

" No -nothing. It's nothing seriously."

"As you say man! but I just want to say that Disha is a nice girl. Do whatever you want to do with her but don't break her heart."

"I'm not interested in her man! But you seem to like her."

"Yeah.. Maybe I do, but I just can't be serious with one girl throughout my junior and senior year, and honestly I don't want to fool around with her, she's worth keeping forever."

"Chill man! Geez, I don't even know her!"

"You don't even know me-" Sid stopped mid sentence as 6 boys came.

"Dude!! Lets go smoke you fucking pervert!" Said a tall guy.

"I'll catch up with you later man!" said Sid.

'Seriously! Raveena! I hate that bitch and the way she was checking me out damn!' Disha thought to herself while walking to the canteen.

"Hey Elina!!!! How you been this summer? Haven't seen you in so long!" Said disha with a joyful voice.

"Hey girl! I'm so good!! I'm ready to date atleast 10 guys this year, how was your first class though?" Said Disha's apparent 'best friend.'

"You and your boys! Damn you really are a sl-". She was interrupted by Raveena.

"So eyes on the new guy? What do you want? Can't you just let go of boys that aren't interested in you?"

"Honey, chill. You have your candy I'm actually full this year." Said Disha and left for her chemistry class.

"Bitch!" said Raveena frustrated.

In her chemistry class, she sat beside Karan and decided not to talk to him unless he speaks up first, and after almost 45 mins being the absolute chatterbox that she is, she finally spoke up,

"Aren't you just so interested in knowing fucking how does hydrogen form spectrum! Literally man! Cut it out!".

Karan laughed and said, "About time! Thought you were too quiet to be you Disha. Did something happen?"

"No." Said Disha and turned away.

"How'd you know my name? " She asked facing him again forgetting her anger. "Leave it, anyone could have told you. What's your name?"

Karan looked amused at her sudden change of mood, "Karan" he said after a few seconds. "Cool! I'll call you K." Disha responded immediately.

"Huh! So we're on the nickname basis now? " Asked Karan taken aback by her sudden declaration.

Disha thought before saying "Why not? After all we are.... Friends! "
