Author's POV
"So how do I tell her? Should I be like, Disha I love you; maybe that would be too sudden....Should I kneel down in front of everyone? But what if she thinks it's too much!" Karan whispered as he was going back to the class. He saw Disha sitting in the desk studying and Karan's heart started beating faster as he approached her.
"H-Hi Disha, there's something I want to tell you." He said standing in front of her.
"First sit down!" Disha said not looking away from the book.
"Disha......" Karan sat beside her.
"Yeah.... tell me!" Disha smiled which made Karan's heart feel like it would explode.
"Y-you, no...Umm wait no, this is not how I planned it wa -" he stopped mid sentence to see the teacher entering the class.
'Fuck it, I'll tell her later. There's no need to rush things and now that Sid doesn't have a problem with all this there's no one who can stop me from telling Disha that she's mine. I'll plan something very nice and I'll ask her on a date or something! She can also come home and we can watch movies or play video games together... I wonder what kind of girlfriend she'll be..... Naah it doesn't matter, she will get whatever she demands.' Karan thought and a smiled appeared involuntary on his face.
After the school was over (it was the last period) they walked out of the building and Disha spoke up.
"Tell me now, what were you saying?"
"Nothing..... I'll tell you later. Let's go home for now." Karan smiled.

"Disha! Come here!" her aunt exclaimed when she noticed Disha has returned.
"Yes! Coming!" Disha exclaimed back.
"See Disha, I'll put things straight here and now that you're going to officially be an adult soon I don't want to keep you in dark."
"Yeah... What is it?"
"You know that your uncle doesn't earn that much.... we have to take care of both of you. It's very hard for us to financially support you."
Disha did not respond and waited for her aunt to continue.
"Next year you would be joining college, but do not expect that we will be able to bear the expenses of any professional courses. So you need to think and decide, quickly, what you want to do. I hope you understand what I am trying to say and also know that you will be moving out as well. We'll try to help you with settling and all but we can't keep doing that for you forever you know. Simi is growing up too and we have to save up for her. You need to start earning for your stomach soon. You can't be depending on us forever now can you?"
"Yes..." Disha said and went to her room with her head hung low.
'Move out? I have to move out when this year ends? What will I do? I did not expect it to be so sudden. What will I do after this year ends? I cannot enrol for a professional course either.' She thought as entered her room. Removing her bag, she kept it on her study table and opened her closet to take out something comfortable to wear.
Disha decided to take a warm shower to clear her head. She adjusted the temperature of the water and took her clothes off. A heavy sigh left her lips as soon as the water hit her head.
Memories of her past flashed in front of her eyes. All the times when she was reminded that she was indeed an orphan and burden her aunt and uncle had to carry all these years. All the things her aunt would say when she thought she was not listening, her uncle's indifferent behaviour whenever anything came to her, Ryan's and Karan's words, all these sleeping voices came to life in her head.
