Next morning Karan woke up and decided not to argue with his dad and apologise for his words. He got ready, wore his uniform which was carelessly lying at the corner of the room and went downstairs. He saw his mom sitting in the living room with a coffee mug and a newspaper. Her eyes moved along the lines of the paper and her eyeballs moved as she read.

"Hey ma! Good morning!" exclaimed Karan.

"Good morning beta! You're right on time today." Smiled his mom.

"Well, I'm not always late. Where's dad?"

"He is out early today, he had some work to do urgently." said his mom sipping the hot coffee.

"I wanted to apologise; but only for you." Karan said taking out the bottle of milk from the fridge.

"Good. Apologise to him once he is back." Said his mom caressing his hair.

"Okay ma! I have to go now."

"Bye! Have a nice day!"

Karan reached school and saw Sid talking to a girl on the corridor. He decided not to interrupt him. As he entered the class he saw students in groups laughing together. He began walking towards his desk and saw Disha awfully silent, looking out of the window.

'She must've had a rough sleep last night. Even if I have known her for only a few days, I know Disha can't be this silent.' Karan thought.

"Hey Disha!"

"Hi" she replied without bothering to turn towards him.

'I shouldn't disturb her.' Karan thought and sat down beside her. Mr Erwin was absent and a substitute teacher entered the class.

"Good morning everyone! As your biology teacher is absent and I have a lot of work to do in the office. Those who want to stay in class and revise, they can or you can go to the ground, but do not make chaos in the classroom. Other classes are going on." Said the substitute teacher without a pause and rushed out of the class just as quickly as he entered.

Karan got up(obviously)and walked towards Sid.

"Let's go!" said Karan.

They went to their spot and the girl who waved at Karan the other day smiled at him. Karan ignored her this time.

"So, was she your girlfriend?" asked Karan as they sat down on the grass.

"Who?"

"The girl you were talking to on the corridor." Said Karan.

"No man! No way! She's just a friend."

"Great.." said Karan lowering down his voice.

"What about Raveena? Did you talk to her?"

"No.. but I guess we're okay." Said Karan staring at the girl who smiled at him. Suddenly Karan felt a soft touch on his shoulder for a second and as he turned his head to see who was it, Lily smiled and sat near them.

"Hey guys!" said Lily pulling up her sleeves.

"Bunking the classes again? Atleast let the session begin properly." Smiled Sid looking at her.

"Physics sucks. Damn that Newton Bastard." Replied Lily laying down on the fresh grass.

"You don't talk to girls or what?" asked Lily noticing his lack of acknowledgement to her presence.

"Don't call yourself a girl!" said Sid laughing and pinching her nose.

"It's not like that.. I just don't have anything to talk about." Replied Karan with an innocent smile.
