Author's POV

"Who is this Ryan? What is this matter with Disha?" Karan spoke after they left the office.

"Let's go to the class." Sid said ignoring Karan's curiosity.

"What the fuck man? A random guy just beats the hell out of me and you are here showing me your attitude? Stop being a girl already!" said Karan frustrated.

"He's Disha's ex, FINE?! Geez..."

"What an actual fuck! Why did he break my nose though?"

"I don't know about that! Stop shouting already!"

"Sorry...but the way you punched him, it didn't seem that he's just Disha's ex."

"We used to be friends...", after saying this, Sid went ahead of him as memories invaded his mind.

'I'll show that Sid guy who's the real player here!' Ryan thought with determination running towards the court.

"So? You think you can beat me kiddo?" said Sid who was ready with a basketball in his hand.

"Damn you are going to regret this real bad." Said Ryan removing his jacket.

"Stop with the trash talk loser!" Sid exclaimed as Ryan took the ball from him. Ryan was dribbling the ball while maintaining eye contact with Sid.

" One-on-One!" Sid said glaring at him.

The game started and within the first forty five seconds, the ball was snatched from Ryan and Sid scored even before Ryan could react. As the game went on, Ryan was amazed with Sid's speed. He hardly got the ball. It was over within half an hour with a score of 12-21.

"You just got lucky bastard, it's not my day today." Ryan said while picking up the bottle from the ground. Sid let out a light hearted laugh.

"Sure..." He said. "I'll show you something." Sid continued and went on the court again with the ball in his hand. He took his position on the center circle as Ryan observed him with interest. Within a flash, the ball was bouncing on the ground after passing through the basket. Ryan's eyes went wide watching the perfect half-court shot.

"Dude! That's the first time I have actually seen someone pulling off a perfect half-court other than my coach!" He exclaimed as Sid returned back near him and sat down on the freshly trimmed grass.

"Heh! Cause you're a loser!" Sid said and Ryan joined him on the ground.

"You have got to teach me that!" He said.

"Yeah yeah..." He said as he got up and went to sit in front of the cheer-leading squad's practice area. Ryan followed him like a lost cat and sat beside him.

"Why did we come here? Is it a part of the training?" Ryan asked Sid while looking at him with stars in his eyes.

"Stop fangirling now! Look at that girl, she smiles at me whenever I come here." Sid said indicating to one of the girls present there for registration as the cheerleader.

Back to the present...

"Fuck it!" Sid exclaimed as he entered the class and saw a group of girls staring at them.

"Why are you having that reaction? You're the hero here, I'm the one standing with a broken nose!" said Karan.

"Shut up I'm still mad at you!" said Sid and sat on his desk. Karan didn't want to face Disha so he decided to sit on the last bench.
