Godrick was sitting at his kitchen table sipping at a cup of tea as he waited for his 'uncle' and his sister to come down the stairs his mother sitting across from him as she eyed her own cup.

"I didn't poison it you know."

She didn't make a move to touch the mug.

"Coffee, two sugars, a little milk, and a spoon of caramel, your favorite."

That seemed to be enough convincing for her has she picked up the mug and brought it to her lips before taking a small sip. A flash of a smile crossed her face but it disappeared just as quickly as John, Elena and Stefan came down the stairs.

His twin stopped in her tracks as her eyes fell on the vampire sitting at the table before she turned to her brother. He only shrugged helplessly and pointed his finger at John. He wasn't the one to invite her in, let the adult feel her wrath. Isobel seemed to understand that too and stood up.

" I asked John for a do-over."

Elena looked at her like she was crazy before directing the same expression on to her 'uncle'.

"You invited her in."

John put his hands in his jacket pockets as he defended his choice.

"She has information about Klaus. Please, just listen to her, okay?"

Elena turned to her brother for help. She trusted his judgment when it came to her safety, and she nodded at Stefan when she saw that her twin wanted her to try and give them a chance, she would hear them out, but that didn't mean she was happy about it. The vampire beside her understood her unspoken words as he looked at the other immortal in the room.

"All right. What do you know?"

Elena paced as Isobel explained what she knew from her chair at the kitchen table.

"Since I was last here, I've been doing everything possible to find Klaus. We knew our best chance was to find him before he could find you."

Stefan frowned from his place leaning against the counter.

"Best chance at what?"

John was the one to answer.

"Keeping Elena alive."

The Gilbert girl rounded on him, a thunderous look on her face.

"You don't get to talk, okay, not after everything you've done."

John clicked his jaw shut as Stefan addressed the woman in front of him.

"Where you able to find Klaus?"

Isobel swiped hair out of her face as she let out a defeated sight.

"No. Nobody knows where he is but there are these rumors that are flying around. That a doppelgänger exists."

John cut in.

"Which means any vampire that wants to get in favor with Klaus will be lining up to capture you."

Elena pursed her lip as she shook her head in denial.

"I'm not buying any of this."

She fixed her gaze on her mother as she went on.

"The last time that you were here, you made it clear that you didn't give a damn about me. Now all of a sudden I'm supposed to believe that you want to help?"

Surprisingly, it was Godrick that came to his mother's defense.

"She's telling the truth Elena. Isobel has been helping me since I meet her, she's the reason I know so much about the supernatural."
