[Jimin's POV]
"What the heck was that?!" I shouted. Right after Hoseok's announcement, I had followed him into a deserted hallway. "You know for a fact that Sera and I didn't want this. Why make us suffer?"
"Jimin, just go. Do you not trust me?" he said.
"What- I didn't say I didn't trust you-"
"Then go. It'll be a good way for you two to connect."
"I don't want to connect."
"Why not? Sera is a lovely girl."
But that was just the thing."I don't want to hurt her."
Hoseok remained silent as he thought."I think it would hurt her more if you didn't at least try."
"What do you mean 'try?'"
"At least try to make it work. Try to make it bearable. Try and trust each other, Jimin," Hoseok said. "If you don't, you'll regret it. Once you're crowned king, you'll know that you can't trust anyone. Anyone but her. If you don't build this connection now, you won't have anyone when you're alone and suffering."
I was silent. I had nothing to say because everything he said was right.
When I do become king, who will I have? I won't even know who's out to get me.
Except Sera.
I could always count on her support because, well, she's Sera.
The purest and most loving girl I've ever met.
And that's why I had to keep her away. She deserved to be happy.
Not with me.
Seemingly to have read my thoughts, Hoseok patted my shoulder and said, "Just go. It'll all work out. I promise."
And that's why we're here.
On some random island Hoseok had shipped us off to.
He even made us an itinerary.
As there were only a couple hours left until midnight today, there was only one activity.
Sightseeing.
I checked the map he had attached and saw that he had drawn a line all around the city to end at the edge of some cliff.
If this doesn't go well, it'll be his fault if I decided to jump off.
"Is that from Hoseok?" Sera asked as she peered over my shoulder.
I hadn't realized she had finished unpacking.
"Yep. It's our itinerary for the week," I said.
"Oh really? May I see it?" she asked. May I see it?
I was her husband now for God's sake.
"You can speak comfortably with me you know," I said.
"O-oh. Right. Sorry," she said. A light blush of embarrassment crept onto her cheeks.
Cute.
But was she always this formal? Even with her parents?
"Sightseeing?"
"Yep. Should we go now? It'll be dark soon," I said.
"Y-yeah. That's a good idea." So together, we put on our shoes and left the suite.
Of course, a certain amount of guards accompanied us, including our personal ones. They were kind of a mood kill but they kept us alive so I didn't have anything to say about it.
"Oh!" Sera suddenly exclaimed, "There's a really big shopping mall here. Do you want to go check it out?" Seeing her excitement, I agreed. You could never go wrong with shopping, right?
Oh, how wrong I was.
I had to say, the mall certainly was impressive, with dazzling lights that lit up its grand entrance. As we neared the stairs, some people had gathered, whispering, pointing and smiling.
I myself put on a big smile and interlocked my fingers with Sera's.
"What are you doing?" she whisper-shouted.
"There are people here. Let's give them a show," I whispered back.
"A show-?"
"Oh my gosh! It's prince Jimin and princess Sera!" someone suddenly exclaimed, catching the attention of more people.
For a while, we entertained and mingled with the people until someone yelled, "How about you show your wife some love?"
A smirk crossed my face as I turned to a flushed Sera.
"Shall we?" I said, inching my face closer to hers, causing the people to cheer and whistle.
"Jimin- I-"
But before I could continue teasing her, the ground shook.
Then, a loud crack split through the air as rocks and debris blew into the sky, crashing down on us.
I suddenly felt the wind being knocked out of me.
I thought I had been hit with a rock, but instead, found Sera's small form on top of me.
Had she pushed me to the ground?
Shouts and screams could be heard as I felt Sera being ripped away from me and more people pressing me down.
"Stay down, you're majesties!" I barely heard his voice over the falling rocks.
It felt like forever until everything was still. I was panting, sweating and shaking, only one thought on my mind.
Is Sera okay?
"J-Jungkook," I breathed, searching for my personal bodyguard and friend of six years.
"I'm here, sir," I heard him answer. He was the one pressing on my shoulders.
"Sera... Is Sera okay?"
"She appears so, sir," he answered.
I coughed as the pressure on my body started to ease until I was slammed back down onto the ground.
Someone had started firing a gun.
And they were close.
