[Jimin's POV]
I landed a shot right in the bastard's arm.
Seeing that the rest were handling the others in the room, I rushed to Sera who was sobbing in her bonds. Her eyes were wide in fear as she stared at the commotion in front of her.
"J-Jimin? H-how did you find me? What's going on-" I stopped her quickly and began untying her.
"Everything's gonna be okay. We're gonna get you out of here, then I promise I'll answer any questions you have, alright?" I said, but it seemed like she was already too on edge.
"A-are we safe? What about my father? Oh my God, T-Taehyung- he- you have to-" I undid the last rope and pulled her into my chest.
"Shhh, Sera. Everything's alright. You're safe now, you're safe."
"B-but Taehyung- I- I'm sorry. I couldn't- I-" Sera had begun hyperventilating, clutching her chest as she couldn't control her breaths.
"Sera! Sera, calm down. Breathe, just breathe, okay? You can do it," I said, quickly laying her down and trying to help her exhale.
"Tae...hyung..." was all she managed to say before her eyes rolled and she passed out. Checking her pulse, I decided that she would manage for now until we could get her to the hospital.
I had other problems as well.
One arose as a shout.
"Jimin! You have to see this!" I heard Namjoon yell from across the room.
"Wait, we need to get Sera-"
My mouth froze at the sight in front of me.
Taehyung was lying in a pool of blood with a hole in the side of his head.
Sprinting to his side, I fell to my knees, placing my shaking fingers onto his neck.
Nothing.
"Shit, Tae..." and without realizing it, I was crying. Silent tears ran down my cheeks as I clutched Taehyung's clothes in my hands.
What had I done?
Before I could react any further, a shout and two gunshots rang through the air.
One of the bullets hit me.
[Sera's POV]
"Taehyung... Wake up Tae. Please... Please don't leave me..." but no matter how much I begged and sobbed, the blood didn't stop and Taehyung never stirred.
Bitter heartbreak lashed through my chest as I screamed, shaking his dead body.
"Don't you dare go... Don't you dare go!"
My screaming was what woke me. Breathing heavily, I realized I wasn't in an abandoned warehouse. I was in a hospital. A nice hospital.
Rubbing my chest in an attempt to soothe my pounding heart, I whispered, "It was all just a dream. Just a dream." Abruptly, the door opened to reveal a woman in a white coat.
"Your majesty, you're awake. How are you feeling?" the nurse asked.
"I'm fine... Just a little light-headed. Um, where's Jimin? Can I see him?" At the mention of his name, the nurse's smile faltered.
"You should take it easy and rest your highness. Your brain has taken quite the hits over the past few months. Any more stress like this could really be detrimental to your health," she said.
She was dodging my question.
My stomach clenched.
"Where is Jimin?" I entreated again.
"His majesty is... Resting, as you should as well, your highness-"
"Bring me to Jimin, now," I demanded.
Something was wrong, I knew it in my gut.
If Jimin really was okay, he would be here by my side, resting right next to me.
With a heavy sigh and downcast eyes, the nurse nodded, helping me up from the bed and walking me down the hall to a metal door. She then handed me a thick jacket, helping me slide my arms through.
Seeing the plaque on the door, I nearly collapsed.
I was standing in front of the mortuary.
"Wh-why are we here?" I stammered to the nurse who looked like she was on the verge of tears as well.
"I'm sorry your highness," was all she whispered. Closing my eyes, I forced myself to open the door, letting the cold air hit my face as I stepped into the grey room.
There were two tables, each covered with a black cloth finished with a royal emblem.
One was of Islac, the other I recognized as Heila's.
"No..." I rushed over to the table on the right and ripped the cloth off his face.
Taehyung lay pale and as beautiful as ever, but his skin did not glow with the vibrancy it did before. Hesitantly, I placed a hand on his cheek.
It was stone cold.
My tears dribbled down to land on my hand as my heart clenched with guilt and grief.
Suddenly, a warmth embraced my hand. As I spun to see who it was, I hoped with everything in me to see Jimin standing with a smile, telling me everything was okay.
But I was only met with the sombre eyes of an afflicted Yoongi. With no words exchanged, I threw myself onto him as his arms came around my shoulders, holding me just as tight.
Both of us could feel the pain raking through our bodies.
After a while, I pulled away, wiping my tears as did he.
"I-I want some time alone with h-him," I breathed.
"Okay," was all Yoongi muttered back as he turned and left the room.
And now, I was all alone.
Perhaps it would've been less painful to face this with Yoongi by my side, but I couldn't possibly bring more hurt onto him.
Slowly, I pulled the black cloth away from the edge of the table. I choked on my cry as it revealed Jimin's ashen face. My tears now steadily ran down my cheeks to stain the black cloth even darker.
He was gone. Both of my boys were gone.
