-1500 Miles-
[Sera's POV]
Three years had passed ever since all that madness happened. The monarchy took a big hit as a result of my father's transgressions, but Jimin and I had been working hard to rebuild this country.
Recently, I had found out that I was two months pregnant. You should have seen how happy Jimin was when I told him. It was like he could've floated through the roof.
We only recently planned for a child, because not only were we so busy running a country, but we also wanted some time to just enjoy life by ourselves. Plus, we should get the hang of ruling first before we take on the responsibility of raising a child.
Today, Jimin and I were invited to Bellrus where we had such a wonderful time with Hoseok and Dami. It had been a while since we've seen them, so it was delightful to finally see each other again.
On the way home though, we were passing through the Drylands, a place that isn't particularly owned by anyone but was a place where neighbouring countries agreed to share as a correctional facility. It was exactly 1500 miles from any neighbouring country, so that's why it was called 1500 miles away. I know, weird name but it was the one that was most voted for when determining what to call it.
It was also where my father, Jae and Namjoon were currently being held.
A crazy thought suddenly came into my head. Before I could even think of what I was saying, I blurted out, "Should we go visit my father?"
At this, Jimin became bewildered but surprisingly agreed (although it was extremely hesitant).
So taking a detour, we eventually found ourselves standing in front of the jail doors. A guard took us through some security checks and then told us to wait as they arrange the meeting.
A few minutes later, the guard came back.
"Your majesty, prince Jae will see you now. However, king Lair, unfortunately, denied your request for an audience," the guard informed us.
How shocking. My father doesn't want to see me after we put him in jail. It's not like I didn't see this coming. It's such a petty thing he would do.
"That's fine. Lead me to my brother," I said.
With a nod, he beckoned us to follow him through the barred halls until we arrived in front of a green metal door.
"He is in here. Prince Jae is not handcuffed as he has not demonstrated to be violent in any way. Please let us know if you would like him bound," the guard said.
"No, we will be fine. Thank you," I answered. Jae would never hurt me. On the contrary, he'd quite risk his life for me. He just made some bad decisions and got himself tangled in a mess.
I opened the door and entered the small simple room. Jae was sitting on the opposite end of a small table where two chairs sat waiting for us.
"Hey," Jae said as he saw us enter the room.
Seeing his face again after all these years brought a huge smile to my face as I instinctively ran to him and gave him a hug.
"Hey," I answered, still hugging him tight. I didn't even realize, but I was crying as well as Jae. Even though so many things happened between us, he's still my brother and I didn't realize how much I missed him being in my life until I saw his beaming face.
"I missed you," he whispered, still not letting me go.
"I missed you too," I whispered back.
