Love Conquers All (COMPLETED)

Chapter 23

SURRENDER

A month after the confession, they're both happy with what they have. They're even happier and sweeter. 

Mew is busy doing his work when Gulf called. 'Hello, Gulfie, what is it?' 'hello, Mew. Will you come over at my condo tonight?' Gulf asked. 'yes, why? is everything okay?' Mew answered. 'no, I just have to tell you something important tonight. So, I'm making sure that you'll come' Gulf responded 'ah, I see, is it something bad? would that hurt me? You sound serious.' Mew asked nervously. 'no, no, it won't okay? it'll make us happy.' 'okay, see you tonight.' Mew ended the call. Mew is quite busy today.

Mew is busy with meetings and signing documents. He just stop for a while to eat lunch made by Gulf for him. He just smile while eating. After that, he continued working until he received a message that he has to meet an important international client in a restaurant so he called Gulf. 'Hello, Gulf. I'm sorry. I might be late tonight. I have to meet an important client at six.' 'oh, okay. No problem. Just please text me if you can't make it to dinner so that I wont make a lot of food. okay? bye. I'm quite busy today.' Gulf answered. 'okay bye' 

He's about to end the call when he heard a voice from a man. 'okay, can I start now?' the man's voice is familiar. 'Yes, Cloud. Tell what you feel right now' Gulf answered. Mew just continue listening. He's curious what they're talking about. He's certain that it's not about work. 'I've known you for years now, I witnessed how broken you were six years ago but I was amused on how hard you tried to look okay for the sake of your sky. You even sacrificed your life for him. I've been secretly  in love you fro years now. However, I didn't have the courage to tell you. You're always busy with work and your best friend. Remember all the troubles I caused to our company? Most of those are made on purpose because that was the only way I knew to see you or to be near with you. I may sound stupid but that's all true. I love you and I really do and will always be, please let me take care of you. Let's discover the beauty of this together. I might be the exact opposite of your ex but I can assure you that my love for you is incomparable. Just please, at least be nice to me. You can hate me but you can't avoid me. I wont let you. I'm willing to die for you as much as you are to your friend. I'm always hurt and jealous whenever you tell me that you only have your friend and no one else. That you're always willing to give him your all. That you can live without another friend or a lover but you can't live without your sky' Mew is in deep pain with what he heard but still hoping that Gulf would reject him. So he tried to hold on his phone to listen to Gulf's respond but Gulf's answer is way more painful. 'yes, that's all? okay..' But he couldn't take it anymore. It's so painful Gulf just said okay does that mean they're now lovers? 

As Mew's world just fell apart, his phone also fell from his hand. He's asking his self why was it so easy for Gulf to answer that Cloud with an okay, while when he asked the same question to Gulf, Gulf's answer isn't negative nor positive. Now he's asking if Gulf really feels something for him or likes him. 'Is this what he wanted to tell me? Why does he have to give me hope if he really doesn't love me. Is he only doing this for revenge? Am I so bad to feel this? Shit, why Am I so unlucky when it comes to love? I love the wrong person again. Am I really not deserving to be happy in love?' Mew asked those questions to his self as his tears are flowing down from his eyes like a river.

Mew is in a complete mess. The flashbacks of all the memories he had with Gulf keeps playing in his mind. He's crying so hard until Run gets inside his office. 'what's wrong Mew? why are you crying this much?' Run asked but Mew just hugged him while crying without uttering a word. Run cancelled all of Mew's appointment for the next two days. He don't think Mew could think about business in this state. 

It's already seven in the evening and Mew's phone is ringing continuously but Mew wont answer so Run just look at Mew. He doesn't have any idea what's going on right now. All he know is that this pain felt by Mew is because of Gulf. That is actually normal for people who are in love when hurt but he didn't expect to see Mew like this. Never in his wild imagination that his friend would be seriously in love. 

They just stayed in the office until midnight. Run just stayed beside Mew. He tried giving him food but Mew wont eat any. So he just let him be. Run decided to bring his friend home. The moment they reached at home Mew asked him to book a flight to New Zealand. 

Mew can't accept the fact that he's happiness would end up in this way. It turn out to be the most painful thing he ever felt in  his life. 

Mew doesn't have any plan to talk to Gulf so he just turned off his phone. At the same time, he doesn't want to see Gulf again. He badly wants to confront him and let him tell the truth but he just can't. It's enough, this pain enough. 'it's time to surrender' Mew talked to himself. 

He asked Run to book a flight to New Zealand. He wanted to end this pain as soon as possible. He has to move on or to at least forget this pain for a while but he knows he couldn't do it here. 

The next day, Mew directly fly to New Zealand. He thought that he would not remember anything about Gulf there but he's completely wrong. He sees Gulf in everything he does. Whenever he's on the bed, he can hear Gulf's laugh the time he tickles him. Whenever he's eating, he can see Gulf's smile and remember their funny and nonsense conversation. Whenever he goes out to enjoy the scenery, all he can picture out is the moment he had with the only person he considered home. 

'Gulf how could you do this to me? why do you have to do this to me? Why do you have to make me like I'm in heaven when you only wanted me to experience hell in the end? This is hell Gulf! it's a fucking hell! how will I even forget you?' Mew said out of nowhere as if he's talking to Gulf.
