Chapter 25

WHERE ARE YOU?

Two weeks after the confrontation, Mew still couldn't move on from what happened. Gulf's words keeps playing in his mind. ' That day, I was ready to be committed to you, to be your lover. I prepared a dinner and a gift for you but you didn't show up' . He knows that he completely messed up everything. Knowing that Gulf  actually planned to be officially his means a lot to him, it made him the happiest at the same time the most hurt since he was too childish to jump into conclusions. If he tried to confront him or at least showed up that night, they would have been together now. He wanted to make it up to Gulf but he doesn't want to hurt him again.He doesn't know what to do. 

Mew just stayed in the office most of the time from early in the morning until midnight. Sometimes, he even spend his all day and night at the company. He doesn't want to go out coz he knows that he might not be able to stop himself from going to Gulf's condo. He doesn't want to do the same mistake again. So, he just spend all his time to work to distract his self. Run enters his office and ask Mew. 'how long will you act like this Mew? Are you planning to kill yourself?' Mew just shook his head  and answered. 'I'm in pain Run, not seeing him makes me mad but I know that seeing him means hurting him again. I still couldn't believe that I hurt him badly even if we're not yet officially together.' Run let out a heavy sigh and said. 'Mew, pain is part of love. No, pain is the twin sister of love. When you love someone you'll be hurt too. It's like buy one take one. You can't just simply choose one and take it. Yeah, it's also part of the reality that the person who makes us happy the most would be the reason for us to experience the most painful feeling we could ever have. However, there's more painful than that, it is losing the game we called love without fighting. Whether you like it or not, you would always hurt him as long as he loves you. All you have to do is to make sure that the amount of happiness you can give to him is greater than the pain he feels or he'll feel. You have to prove it to him that the love you have for each other is worth trying and worth fighting. You must make sure that you're worth the pain he feels. If you don't act now. You might be too late, remember he just started loving you and it's way easier to move on.' Run advised him. Mew chuckles before he ask 'since when did you become an love expert?' 'There's no one who's expert in love. It's too complicated and unpredictable. People can only learn from their experiences and it's up to them what to do with what they have learned, do the same mistake again? or do something better?Tsk, that's enough. Act now, don't be such a coward' Run answered with full of wisdom before he left the office. 

Mew realized that Run is definitely correct. He should win his man back. He left in the company earlier than usual to visit Gulf again. He went to Mr. Suppapong's company and wait for Gulf in the parking lot. He just waited there patiently until it's already six in the evening. Mew then asked himself 'Did he skip work today?' He's now going to Gulf's condo with a smile, hoping that he would get to see Gulf again but when he reached there, no one is in the condo literally no one the lights are all closed. He waited for an hour hoping to see Gulf again but there's still no one. So, he decided to ask the security guard. However, the guard's answer disappointed Mew. The guard said that it's been more than a week since Gulf left. He's hurt and he goes to the other condo where Gulf used to live before he moved in with Techno. Mew's heart beat is as fast as the running horse. He still hopes that Gulf is just staying there but the same thing happened. He asked the security guard and the guard answered 'It's been almost a week since I saw Mr. Gulf with his friends and a girl' Mew just thanked the guard and left. 

Mew is so down. He couldn't stop himself from crying thinking that it might be too late for him to take back Gulf. He keeps convincing his self that Gulf is just out there, hiding but the more he thinks about it the more pain he feels. 

The next day, Mew still managed to report to work but Run could clearly see that he's out of the world again. Run wanted to ask him but he don't want to interrupt Mew. So, he just waited until Mew finally talk. 'I couldn't find him Run. He's not in his condo nor his old condo. I don't know where he is right now' 'Mew, don't jump into conclusions yet. Didn't you learn your lesson? Why don't you try visiting their company or Mr. Suppapong's company? Maybe he just moved in to another house' Run suggested.

Mew just follow what Run suggested. He goes to Mr. Suppapong's company first and ask Mr. Suppapong personally. However, Mr. Suppapong told him that Gulf asked for an infinite leave. So, he doesn't really know when will Gulf come back. After hearing Mr. Suppapong's explanation, he's hurt beyond imagination. He tried to be braver so that he could proceed to GMTC company. When he arrived there, he lied and told the guard that he's called by Gulf but the guard said that Gulf didn't work in the company for a month already. The guard added that Gulf only works in the company if there are emergency cases or problems that needed an immediate solution. 

Mew goes back to his car and tried to hold his tears back. Although, he's hurt to find out that Gulf isn't working in any of the companies. He managed to go back to his own company. The moment he reach his office, he broke down and cried. 'Gulf please, please. Don't leave me. Where are you?' Mew asked out of nowhere loudly when he remembered something. 'Yes, I should call him' Mew said to his self and dialed Gulf's number however his number is out of reach. This time he doesn't know what to do anymore. 

When Run entered Mew's office, he can see Mew sleeping in his chair with dried tears. 'Look, how ugly you are?' Run said. Run waited for almost an hour before Mew finally opened his eyes. Run ask. 'hm? what happened?' 'I couldn't find him Run. Please help me find him.' Mew begged. Run just comforted him. 'wait, I'll try to call his assistant'  Run dialed the Jane's number but it's unreachable. So he called the company's number. A representative answered, he asked where Gulf is but the representative doesn't know who Gulf is. So, he asked the representative if he knows Jane. The representative said yes but the person named Jane is out of the country for work. 

Run told Mew about the information he found. The moment Mew heard the news from Run, he broke down again knowing that maybe Gulf accepted a work offer from abroad. Run tried his best to calm Mew. 'Mew, it's not yet confirmed that he's out of the country. So, don't act like it's already the end. I'll send an email to Jane right now. We'll have to wait maybe until tomorrow to get a respond' Run said and write an email then send it to Jane directly. 

It's already nine in the evening but Mew is still in his office and Run didn't leave him alone. Mew is just there  sitting in his chair while drinking red wine. Run just let him do whatever he wants. Run is about to bring Mew home when he received a respond from Jane. 

'Hello there Mr. Run,

Good day! Before I'll answer your question, I'd like to apologize for the late respond. I was just a bit busy with work. Anyways, I'm in the US right now working as a secretary but not for Mr. Kanawut as he sent me here last week to be Mr. Techno's secretary temporarily. So as to where Mr. Kanawut is right now, I don't have any idea for that since I didn't hear anything from him after he sent me here. That would be all.

Run quickly thanked Jane. He's happy to know that Gulf isn't there but he's confused too. If Gulf isn't in the US nor here in Thailand then where? Run just brush off the idea from his mind and told Mew about it. He couldn't really understand Mew's reaction. Whether he's relieved, happy or as confused as him. He looked at Mew for a while before he talked again. 'Mew, think about it carefully! where do you think he is right now? I think you have at least a slight idea since you were always with him. For now, I'll take you home'

Mew just looked at him but soon agreed to go home. After few minutes drive they finally reach at Mew's house. Run just put his friend in the bed and go home. 

Mew on the other hand is just lying on his bed, looking at the ceiling and thinking where Gulf is.

'Hayshhh, Gulf. Where are you my Gulfie, my love, my home?. Please come back to me. I miss you so much.' Mew said before he fall asleep. 

PS. I wont give you the title of the next chapter. I'll let you guess. What would happen next? Where do you think Gulf is?
