Lucas was back the next day, Sunday.
He sat beside Luke's hospital bed. The doctors said Luke's fine. At least, he's out of the danger zone. But they weren't sure when he will be waking up. Lucky for him, the knife wasn't stabbed on his left chest where the heart is.
There were bags under Lucas's eyes. Holding one of Luke's hand in his didn't actually bring him any comfort but at least he knows his brother is going to live.
' Hey Lucas. ' The room's door slide open. Aaron stood there grimly. Lucas can see the puffiness of his eyes and the fiddle of his bag gave away how nervous the boy is.
' Come on in. ' Lucas replies softly, the sound barely louder than a whisper. Aaron walk towards them timidly and closes the door behind him gently. He approaches the bed and pull out a chair beside the bed.
Sitting on it, Aaron couldn't contain his tears again. The look on his lover, his boyfriend is literally killing him. Luke laid there, his pale glassy face and Aaron hates himself of not being able to do anything.
He moves close to Luke and rest his head on the bed but not touching Luke and cries softly.
It's funny how things goes. Just a day after declaring themselves as boyfriends and now..... this? Really, how bad can anyone's day go?
Aaron wants to laugh foolishly at himself. Just a single happy day with Luke and yet now, they have to deal with the possibility of him waking up from coma.
He would do anything to make all this go away. And that he'll find himself wake up and was cuddling beside Luke. That he'll be able to see the smile from his boyfriend that he had came to love. The warm and fussiness of Luke's chest, lulling him back to sleep again.
How he wished he could have those. Right here, right now.
Lucas was not looking at his brother now, neither was he still holding on his hand. The time, his eyes were fixed on Aaron. The boy who avoided every contact accept of Luke's.
Lucas doesn't know what or how he should feel for Aaron. Pity? Sad? Anger? Disappointed? So many mixed emotions swirling in his head.
' Aaron. Can I talk to you? ' The boy's head looks up from his previous posture and landed on Lucas. He hesitated for a bit before nodding his head.
' Alone. ' Lucas said sharply. Aaron's heart tighten at the word and fear began slipping into him. ' Sure. ' The boys got up from their seat and went outside, shutting the door close.
The only reason why Lucas didn't want to talk in the room is because he believes even if a person is in coma, they actually can hear you. They just couldn't open their eyes or say anything.
' Never cry in front of mum. She will hear you. ' Those were the words that Luke had told him that day after the accident when they visited their mum in the hospital. Luke said that mum wouldn't want to hear him crying.
And now, Lucas doesn't want Luke to know what they were about to talk.
Both the boys stood, with Lucas leaning against the wall and Aaron standing rigidly. Lucas kept his eyes on Aaron, not moving away from the boy.
' You got something to say to me? ' No, these words weren't spoken by Aaron. They were Lucas's.
' What do you want me to say? ' Oh Aaron knows exactly what Lucas wants to know. ' Don't play dumb with me, Aaron. ' Lucas shot back.
The male isn't playing and joking around anymore. It's serious. It's time to know everything.
' Say it. I don't want to wait anymore. ' Lucas pushes. He's not going to play the I - ask - you - answer - game anymore. He's tired to it.
