' Morning Luke. ' It was yet another Saturday. But this time..... Well, it's going to be quite different. ' Morning Lucas! ' Luke was rather cheerful today. His head was filled with expectations towards this afternoon's trip to the mall.
' Bacon and eggs again? ' Lucas ask in distaste as a plate was put before him on the dining table. ' Be grateful I even made breakfast for you, dumb ass! ' Luke snap and slams the fork and spoon down on the table.
' Oh I am grateful okay.... ' Lucas mutter and nibbles on his bacon. Luke huffs and continue frying some eggs. Such an egg guy..... Lucas smile to himself. Egg guy huh? Not bad.
' Hey Luke, where's dad? ' Luke scowls at the mention of their dad and took the seat opposite Lucas. ' I don't know. I guess he went to work. ' Lucas nodded and went back eating. ' Have you ever wondered what it would be like if dad spent more time with us? ' Lucas ask again.
This is though, Luke's answer was harsh and straight forward. ' I wouldn't be wasting my time wondering on the small 'if'. It's something that's never going to happen anyway. Why bother? ' Lucas frowns at his brother sudden attitude.
' I don't know.... I just.... sometimes I hope if maybe we can go back and be the happy family we once were..... Dad always coming back from work on time, eating mum's lunch and dinner after school.... going for holidays at grandma's. ' Lucas whisper out.
That made Luke think back the good childhood memories they had. Yes, it was certainly the best days. ' Mum's dead. Dad's a workaholic. Grandma's migrated. Us... we're not as close as we once were anymore. Can't you see, we're never going back. What's gone is gone. ' Luke still says what he thinks is right. Which in fact, it is.
' Well at least dad doesn't get depressed and become abusive after..... everything. ' Lucas sighs and the thought while Luke doesn't add anything.
They ate in silence afterwards. No one said anything. It was a peaceful and calm silence, not at all awkward.
' Oh right! I almost forgot to ask you! ' Lucas cries out. Luke looks up from his dish and waits for Lucas to swallow his food before asking ' I heard you and Aaron are going out today! Why didn't you tell me!? ' Lucas was half mad and half happy.
' I was going to later. And for the record it's me, Aaron and Sera. ' Luke choose to ignore his brother unhappy expression when Sera's name was mention. ' What! Is she trying to be the third wheel or something!? ' He is smirking now, waiting for Luke's reaction.
' Aaron and I aren't dating. ' Luke states simply, thought his heart is hammering. ' Okay, now maybe but who can confirm about the future? ' Lucas's smirks grew wider when a light tint of red flashes across his brother's cheek.
' It's never going to happen. ' Luke says. ' Uh huh. Keep telling that to yourself. Aaron likes you!' Lucas doesn't know why his brother doesn't see the obvious.
' So what? I'm straight. ' Luke defends himself.
' Yeah. You're straight as rainbows. ' Lucas rolls his eyes at Luke.
' I'm serious, Lucas. Aaron and I.... we won't be a thing. ' Luke sighs in defeat when Lucas pouts at him. ' Why!!!??' He drags the word. ' Because... it's just..... wrong. It's wrong. I can't... I just... ' Luke huffs in annoyance. He can't deal with this right now.
' Cut the bullshit, Luke. You know he likes you, don't you? ' Lucas's words pierced through Luke's heart but he remains silent. ' I don't know why you're so afraid to admit that you also like him. ' Lucas drops his spoon on the plate and lean back on the chair.
