Jayden just finished his last lesson for the day and was ready to head home when someone behind stops him.
' Hey! ' The boy turns around and saw none other than Liam Davis. ' Hey. ' Jaden whispers back. ' I was wondering if you wanna hang out? ' Liam was smiling. ' Hang out? ' Jayden furrows his eye browns.
' Yeah. Meet me at the Steamin' Mugs at four okay? The have the best Cappuccino. ' Liam doesn't wait for Jayden's reply and rush off to god knows where. The small boy stood there, completely stunned by what he just heard.
' Really? ' He ask to no one. ' I was thinking of Espresso Ready..... They have the best cheesecake...' Jayden would be a real fool if he denied the offer. Is he asking me out of a date? Gosh..... It's been so long.....
Unknowingly, a silent smile crept on his face.
Jayden got back home to take a shower and change his dirty cloths into a set of new ones, style his hair which basically used up about half an hour and hailed a taxi to the cafe.
The moment he stood in front of the door, his heart was beating so fast that he has to press his hand against it to calm down. ' This is it.... ' He couldn't control the smile that shown on his face. Jayden pushes open the door and the door bell instantly rings a melody tune.
He scans the room but couldn't find any sign of Liam. ' Jayden! You're here! ' The boy turns his head towards the source of sound. The smile that was originally on his face died immediately as he sees the scene before him.
Liam, Olivia, Daniel, Ashley, Marcus, Aaron, Luke and so much more were there. A total of twelve people wave at him, welcoming Jayden to their table.
Was is awkward? Definitely. Because Jayden thought he was going to meet with Liam. And that by means only Liam but turns out..... he was wrong. Oh so wrong.
Jayden walks timidly towards the crowd of people. There was only one more free space and that's beside Marcus and the opposite of Liam. Well, it couldn't be more worse. ' So uh.... why am I here? ' Jayden doesn't like the fact that everyone is staring at him so he quickly conjures up a conversation.
' Oh! Liam didn't tell you? It's Olivia's birthday today!! ' Alan says. Now Jayden was confused, it's Olivia's birthday, not Liam's. Why is he invited? So he voiced out the question in his head. ' It's nothing. I just really wanted to meet you. Liam has talk quite a lot about you. ' Olivia's voice was sweet and kind.
Jayden instantly likes this girl. Don't get him wrong guys, he likes her as in a friend, not that kind of ' like ' . ' Uh.... that's cool. ' Jayden chuckles a little. Liam was clearly uncomfortable with the tense atmosphere so he changes the topic to Alan and Lucas dating.
The crowd once again went back to it's cheerful and happy mood but Jayden stay quiet through the whole chat. Who is he to talk? They're not his friends. He doesn't have any. It's already pretty weird for them to invite him anyway.
Liam suddenly stands up and excuse himself to the bathroom. Jayden's eyes follows him until the bathroom door swung close, separating their contact. He picks on the slice of blueberry cake he orders just now, not really having any appetite to eat it. Sipping on his Americano coffee, nothing seem to lighten his mood.
Just then, the lights in the cafe went off. Everyone in it stop their actions and frantically look around. Just then. the most amazing thing happen.
' Happy birthday to you... Happy birthday to you..... Happy birthday to Olivia..... ' Everyone on the table started to sing the song except for Jayden who was still in daze. The others were not bothered that the fact the lights just went out. It's like.... it was a plan.
