Today is the first day of Mia's training and she's late. This is not what I was expecting from her

"Umm... Blanca?", I heard her say from behind me. We were in the garden.

"Hi...", I turned, "...sweetheart you're late. I said 7 am sharp", I said sharply
"Sorry, I slept late last night cause I ...", her voice trailed off and she lowered her head

"What's up Mia?. You're acting very weird.", I asked with concern
"Uh...I-I'm fine", she stammered and tucked a strand of hair behind her ear.

She was in an oversized t-shirt. That's all she brought with her. And a pair of white shorts

"No you are not..you're sta-stammering", I quipped and she laughed, but it was a bit forced" Mi what is wrong?"

"I can't sleep well at night. You know, nightmares and all that shit", she had a look of fear in her eyes, but her face looked soo strong

"You? Nightmares? Aren't those freaking nightmares afraid of you? Cause I sure am.", she chuckled lightly, "Oh and FYI, if you could fight, those nightmares would be petrified of you. We'll start training tomorrow instead, kay?", I smiled a little

"Uh..sure. Who am I to argue with you?", she murmured silently

"Mi?", I called out

"Huh?"

"Don't be late for breakfast. It is at 8:30 am, okay?", I tried to sound as nice as I could

"Okay Blanca", she sounded soo timid, I felt bad for her. I walked into the house.

When I sat at the table my mother served me some food

"Liam?", I said quietly, almost a whisper. He was sitting next to me

"Yeah?", he answered, not taking his eyes off his food

"Have you found anything?"

"Yep", he answered nonchalantly

"So...tell me"

He sighed and left the table. I was soo confused, so I followed him up to his room.

He had his head in his hands, and he kept running his hand through his hair.

I walked into his room and sat next to him on his bed
"Hey, baby", I smiled but he didn't notice me

"Blanca I'm not in the mood"
Liam was soo down, but I didn't know why

"Hey! What's wrong", I held his shoulders and turned him to face me
He immediately hugged me and broke down.

"I found her", he sniffed
"Who?", I asked confused
"My mother, I found her yesterday, on my way home"

"God Liam, that's great news. I guess"
"No, it's not.", he pulled away and wiped his tears.

"Why not?"

"Because, she was the woman who abandoned me, for what? For her father's money. And today, when she saw me she had a look of recognition in her eyes, and then...it was gone. She was gone. She left me again. For money, again"

He sobbed harder. I had never seen a man soo broken

"Li, I'm soo sorry. I...didn't know. I-", he did the most unbelievable thing, the asshole kissed me.

I pushed him, stood up from the bed and when he got up too I slapped him
"Yeah, so I get that you saw the bitch that left you for money, for the first time in a while, but no one told you that my kindness was an invitation. Idiot. Don't you dare mistake my concern for love"
"I'm sorry... I-I thought...", he stuttered

"You thought what!?", I yelled, my voice breaking, "Liam I didn't want to have my first kiss with you...at least not when I saw you as a best friend", I was about to cry.

Blanca, you are gonna cry over your first kiss?? How pathetic
That was my inner demon

"Blanca I'm sorry. I just... Blanca, you're just soo oblivious to my feelings and I lost control"
"You think I'm oblivious!!??", I felt insulted. Oblivious to HIS feelings??? The only thing I can see in his eyes when I look at them is his love for me.

"I'm not fucking oblivious to your feelings Liam. But I don't feel the same for you, that's why I never wanted us to discuss this topic. Because I don't love you, Liam, I don't know about the future...but as for the present...I know I don't have feelings of love towards you Liam, I only see you as my best friend. And don't tell me that ' You could learn to love me shit '...because I don't think I will. I-I can't love ever again. I'm sorry, Liam."

He looked like I had just slapped him in the face....well I did but that was like five minutes ago
I continued anyway

"I'm sorry Liam, but I just don't feel like that. I hope you understand.."
I'm such a heartbreaker, right? He was sad and confided in me and I broke his heart

I'm wicked, selfish, cold, ruthless. Yes yes yes, but it's better than playing him. I walked out before he could say anything else...but I stopped at the door

"When you find out anything regarding the little Monero...let me know", I ordered

"Yes, Miss Vermont", he answered coldly
I don't know why his cold tone threw me off, but it did.
I left his room with a heavy heart
