I slowly opened my eyes and am met with light and blurry vision. I can see people in front of me but I can't seem to make out their faces and everything sounds soo distant.

I suddenly felt a sharp pain in my lower abdomen where the bullet hit, and I remembered that I was shot. Wait so am I in heaven? Or am I about to be sent to hell? Then why do I feel the pain? It should be gone, I should be at peace but I'm not. I'm restless!! I want to know who the hell shot me or had me shot.

Slowly but surely my eyes adjusted to the light and I saw the people I cherish the most in front of me.

"She's waking up" the nurse informed and the doctor walked to me
"How are you feeling Blanca?" doctor Brianna asked and I tried to sit up. My mother was at my side immediately and helped me to sit.
"I'm feeling okay, I guess. I still feel a sharp pain in my lower abdomen, but other than that I'm fine." I responded with a small smile
"That's good to hear. We want to monitor you for a while before we let you go home. You'll also have to go through a few exercises to help you with walking again"
"Wait for a second! I can't walk?" I asked in confusion

"Well, I didn't say that--"

"Then what are you saying, doctor?" I interrupted and my mother glared daggers at me so I shut my mouth.
Doctor Brianna laughed softly before continuing

"If you had let me finish Blanca, I was going to say that because of the area the bullet hit you will find difficulty in walking but as time goes on and as your wounds heal it will get easier" she explained and I nodded my head slowly.

"Okay so I'm not paralyzed, right?"
"God no!! Blanca if you were paralyzed you wouldn't have been able to move any part of your body at all. At the moment you will find it difficult only to walk a and nothing else"

I sighed in both relief and sorrow
"Alright, thank you, Brianna"
"It's my job Blanca" she answered and left with the nurses leaving me with my family

"You know you are a horrible person, right?" Mia commented with tears in her eyes

"What did I do this time Mia?" I asked with a small smile.

"You gave us a nice scare when you decided to die, and then you came back to life again. If you weren't in a hospital bed I'd teach you a lesson" she threatened and I laughed softly

"You can do that when I'm strong enough to use my fists. Then we'll fight" I replied and she laughed. All this while I hadn't even heard Liam speak. I looked in his direction and saw the tears that had fallen.

I signaled them and my mother, Nicole, and Mia they left us alone. When he realized that I was staring at him he looked away and wiped his face
"You don't have to hide your tears from me Liam" I whispered and he walked closer to me

"I'll say the same thing you said when I was shot almost a month ago. Do you enjoy pulling stunts like this one on me?" he asked, just then a tear fell, and something squeezed my heart.

"If you cry then I'll shoot myself right here. I will give you something to cry about." I said repeating the same words he said to me the day he was shot

"I already cried so much that I think I'm out of tears for a year or two" he joked and I laughed. I laughed even though I was in pain, I laughed even though I was lying in a hospital bed. I laughed even though I almost died. He was able to make me laugh even with the tears that were rolling down his cheeks.

"I could prove you wrong right now if I wanted to, but honestly I don't have the strength to do that"
"Don't stress yourself. You can make me cry whenever you want to. Just recover for me, okay?" he said and I nodded.

Ever since we left the hospital Liam has been with me everywhere I go. He carried me into the house, helped me go to my room, and stayed with me in my room ever since then.
