"I'll see you guys tomorrow," Kakyoin waved goodbye as he slipped into his street shoes.
"See ya, Nori." You smiled at your friend, Jotaro waving goodbye silently besides you.
As soon as Kakyoin shut the door, Jotaro sat down on the floor, massaging his temples with the heel of his hand. You felt awkward just standing there, not knowing if you should to try and comfort him. Not only would it be a blow to your own pride, but you weren't sure if he'd accept it in the first place.
"I uh... I believe you, Kujo..." you trailed off.
"Speak up dumbass, I can't hear you." Jotaro looked up at you from the corner of his eyes, and you couldn't tell if he was annoyed that you spoke or if it was just the exhaustion getting to him.
"I said I believe you. About the girl and everything."
"Gee, thanks. I suddenly feel as though a weight has been lifted off my shoulder now that you've said that," he replied sarcastically.
You opened your mouth to object, only to decide against it. Really, could you have expected anything else from him? He gave you the exact answer you thought he was going to give you, so the only person you had to blame for trying was yourself.
"Jojo! Y/n! Dinner's ready!"
Jotaro stood up quickly, rounding a corner and disappearing down the long hall. You ran to catch up to him, still not sure of the exact layout of his house. He made an abrupt turn into the kitchen, which doubled as a dining room due to it's large size. Jotaro sat down as his mother placed a large pot in the middle of the table. You took the seat across from him.
"That's mom's spot."
"Don't be rude now, Jojo." Holly leaned into her hip as she scolded her son. "If Y/n wanted to sit there, she can sit there. Plus, I wouldn't mind sitting next to my lovely son for a change!"
Jotaro's mother smiled widely as she removed the oven mitts she had on. Sitting down besides her son, she motioned for everyone to take the ramen. We took turns filling our bowls, the warm steam wafting into the air and hitting you in the face. It was only the end of fall now, but the air was steadily getting more and more colder every day. The warmth of the bowl of food in front of you suited such weather. You inhaled deeply, allowing the different smells to mingle in your nose before exhaling. For a moment, you had forgotten everything that had been troubling you.
"Let's dig in!" Holly cheered as she clapper her hands together.
You didn't waste a second, scooping up a clump of noodles and slurping them down. They were hot and burnt your tongue a little bit, but the taste was worth the pain. It was heaven in your mouth, filling your body with warmth and comfort as you continued to eat. Holly giggled as she watched you, and a light blush fell over your cheeks.
"Is it good dear?"
You nodded your head quickly as you finished chewing. "It's amazing!"
Holly laughed at your compliment, enjoying some of her cooking before responding. "I'm glad you like it. Jojo never compliments my cooking, but I know he loves it too." Holly nudged her son, who was also stuffing his face with the bowl of noodles. He looked up for a moment before muttering something under his breath, turning his attention back to the food before him.
"It amazes me how someone like Kujo could be the son of someone as sweet as you, Miss Holly."
"He acts all tough on the outside, but deep down he's a major sweetheart!" Holly nuzzled closer to her son, hugging his arm. You smiled softly at the interaction. "It may not be that obvious, but he really does care for the people around him, even if it is in unorthodox ways. A little while ago I got really sick with a bad case of pneumonia, and Jojo did everything he could to make sure I recovered all right."
