Friday woke me up again this morning, but this time at 6:00am. I never thought I would be so happy to be awake that early.I wanted to only feel excited, but I felt nervous. What if I couldn't make friends? As far as I knew my social skills were at 0. What if someone found out who I was? I tried desperately to push those thoughts away and focus get ready for the day.
(AN: Just imagine her wearing/looking like whatever u want idc)
I walked out to the living room to see my dad, Steve and Nat all watching the news eagerly on T.V. They looked up to see me.
"First day, huh? You're gonna do great!" Nat said encouragingly, though unfortunately it wasn't reassuring.
"I hope so! I've been so nervous all morning," I said optimistically, while hugging her.
"You'll be fine. You're smart, you're funny and got the attitude of a Stark," my dad smirked. I weakly smiled. My 3 greatest attributes.
"Is Happy ready to go?" I asked him, looking around.
"Yep. He's waiting outside. Have a great day hon!" he said, pulling me into a hug and kissing my forehead.
"I will! Love you guys!" I yelled, jogging to the elevator.
"Hey Happy!" I greeted while getting into the car my dad chose to be inconspicuous when I arrived at school.
"Hey Kid!" Happy greeted back looking in the review mirror at me. "You excited?"
"Yep! And nervous, but you know what? That's alright," I spoke.
It was a fairly long drive there, so I just stared out the window and watched as the Avengers tower got smaller and smaller and unfamiliar roads started to pop up. The very sight made my stomach sink from nerves.
Finally, we pulled up to Midtown High. I slung my new backpack over my shoulder, took a deep breath, and stared out the window.
"Y/N...?"
"What if I die?" I asked turning to him. He rolled his eyes a looked back ahead of him.
"Oh my god you're not going to die, just get out of the car," he said. I laughed a bit as his annoyance and felt a bit better.
"Thanks Happy!" I said, before closing the door.
The school looked intimidating. I wasn't sure how a building could do that, but it was. As if that weren't enough, it was packed full of kids, all around my age, with their own friends, talking about god knows what.
'You got this,' I thought to myself. 'You're a Stark. Even though no one else knows that, you know that. Just gotta find my way to the office and we will go from there.'
I walked up the front steps, some kids staring at me, some not even noticing my existence which was fine with me. I slipped into the crowded hallways and tried to find the office on my own. You'd think a really important room for anyone who is new would be labeled or at LEAST in near the front of the building. But it didn't seem that way.
The last thing I wanted to do was ask someone where it was, but I was running out of options as school would properly start in 10 minutes.
I spotted the nearest and nicest looking person, which happened to be a short and kind of tan kid putting stuff into his locker and pulling out a lego man. You know what, I won't judge. Extremely hesitantly I walked up to him and tapped him on the shoulder, startling him enough to drop his Lego man.
"Oh sorry!" I apologized going to pick it up.
"It's alright I'm very skid-dish. Thanks," he said as I handed him his lego back.
