I woke to Friday greeting me as usual, but this time with a message from my dad.
"Your father is on a business call until 7:30am. He says that Happy will be here to pick you up at 6:40am," she spoke. I always found her voice so calming.
"Thanks Friday!" I yelled. I was in a good mood today. I walked to my bathroom, got ready, and went to change my clothes. I wanted to dress a little nicer today.
I did my makeup the same way I always did, and added a bit of jewelry to my look. Being a genius doesn't come at a cost of looking fabulous.
(AN: Again just imagine whatever ya want just keep in mind she looks nicer than normal)
At 6:40am, I went outside to where Happy was parked.
"Morning Happy!" I smiled. I noticed how I was no longer nervous for school. I was, excited. I guess Happy noticed too.
"You're in a good mood," he remarked.
"Yeah, I don't feel the nerves anymore," I told him proudly.
"Well that's good," he said and started the car.
When we arrived at school, I went straight to my locker to get my chemistry things when I felt a tap on my shoulder. I turned around to see Peter.
"Hey," he said, smiling.
"Hi Peter," I said, closing my locker.
"You look nice," he remarked, looking down towards my outfit. I blushed a little.
"Thanks. I just felt like I should make more of an effort today," I told him. He put his hand behind his head.
"Whatever you say," he remarked.
"Come on, we're gonna be late," he said, grabbing my hand and pulling me towards the classroom.
Lunchtime came around, and Peter and I went to sit at our normal table with Ned and MJ, but today, they weren't there yet, so Peter and I just sat there alone.
"So, what exactly happened yesterday? When you met Spider-Man?" Peter asked, making eye contact with me.
"Well, I wanted to walk around the city, but it started raining, so I went to the alleyway to get some shelter and access my phone with directions home. Not the best idea I've had," I admitted. Peter looked so tense.
"Why would you do that? You could have been seriously hurt! Don't you know better than to go onto alleyways?" he asked, eyebrows furrowed.
"Geez, now you're sounding like Spider-Man after he rescued me," I remarked. Peter put his head down.
"I'm just saying, I would hate for something to happen to you," he said softly. I felt my cheeks warm.
"Yeah, I know. If it makes you feel any better, I promise I won't do it again," I said with a smile. He looked back up at me.
"So uh...what happened after Spider-Man saved you?" he asked, clearing his throat.
"Oh, he just told me off for being reckless, then swung away," I summarized.
"Were you okay after that?" Peter asked. He was so focused. Why did he care? Must be a big fan of Spider-Man.
"Yeah, I just walked home and was fine," I said casually. Peter's head perked up.
"WHAT?! You walked home?! After all that, you walked home?!?!" he exclaimed.
Whoops. Probably shouldn't have said that.
"Well....yeah. It wasn't that big a deal. I stayed in large crowds, avoided alleyways and I was fine," I said, trying to put the matter away.
Peter started mumbling something that I couldn't hear, so I didn't bother asking. That's when a new voice appeared over my shoulder.
"Hey Penis Parker. This your girlfriend?" a douchey voice asked. Peter ducked his head away from him.
"Nah, she's too hot for you," he said, hitting Peter's back. He winced slightly, but didn't move his head. The kid looked over to me.
"Flash. Flash Thompson. And you are..." he asked, smirking.
"Y/N, and not interested what so ever," I replied, shaking his hand, a fake smile pressed on my lips.
Flash removed his hand and walked away, trying to act like nothing happened. Peter looked back up at me.
"You didn't have to do that. I usually just ignore him," he said quietly.
"Yeah, I would have normally but he seems extra irritating," I laugh, shoving him playfully. He smiles.
Just then, Ned and MJ walk towards our table.
"Hey guys! Sorry we are late, our P.E. teacher kept making us run laps and ignored the time," Ned explained, out of breath.
"You know, you could just make me excuse and sit out, like me and read a book," MJ commented.
"I can't use the excuse that I have menstrual cramps, MJ!" Ned exclaimed. We all laughed.
