Where did it go? I was sure I didn't leave it in the streets somewhere. I brought the web shooter back home to my apartment. But...where?
I flew the suit back home and put it back where I found it, praying that my dad wouldn't notice it was gone. At least, not until I move out.
I went back to my room and into my laboratory.
"Friday? We need to make another physical copy of project 108. Can you do that for me, hun?" I asked.
"The new physical copy of project 108 should be finished by 6:00am tomorrow," Friday rang back. I smiled, though an unsettling feeling still came upon me about the missing first project.
I set up the design so overnight it could be molded. I secured the room and went to sleep since it was quite late.
The next morning, I woke to no alarm. I checked my phone to see that it was Saturday. I guess that meant no school. I got out of bed and went to go check on my project.
I entered the password and walked into the lab to see my completed design. The same exact web shooter.
"Good work, Friday!" I complimented. I picked it up to inspect the work. My test runs from before were...interesting. It worked, and it did what I programmed it to do. I guess I just lost control. I sat down to do some maintenance on how to better control the webs, and how they can react under command. Suddenly, I heard a small knock on my door.
I ran to hide the web shooter in a drawer.
"Come in," I said. The door opened and my dad was standing in the door frame.
"Hey kiddo. What are you working on?" my dad asked. I flipped over the designs I had.
"You wouldn't let me see what you were working on, so why should I?" I smirked. He sighed.
"Fair enough. I just wanted to remind you that tonight I have a stupid charity ball I have to go to, then I have to fly out to D.C. for a press conference tomorrow."
"Oh, for how long?" I asked. I was used to having dad be gone for weeks since he did own his own company, and fought bad guys. But, I never complained. I liked my alone time.
"For a week or so. And since I won't be here, I don't want you going to school either," he said, before turning to leave.
"I'm sorry, what?!" I almost yelled. He turned back around.
"I'll be too far away if something happens to you," he said.
"Dad I'll be fine! I'm always fine! You always say you are concerned about my safety but every-time I was in trouble this week I got myself out just fine!" I blurted. My dad's eyes widened.
"...what trouble?" he asked, walking closer to me.
"I...I shouldn't have said that," I said, looking away.
"Y/N Stark what the hell happened?!" he yelled.
"Nothing...I was just..."
"TELL ME NOW!!"
"Okay fine! You remember when I was walking alone in the city, and I said that nothing happened to me?" My dad looked down in rage.
"I...well some guy tried to kidnap me, and I fought back, but he was too strong. Out of no where, Spider-Man saved me," I admitted, a sick feeling settled in my stomach.
"Y/N why wouldn't you tell me that?!"
"Because I didn't want you to take my new life away from me just because I was careless this once," I lied. It wasn't just once, but I wasn't ready to tell him about the party, or the web shooter, or anything else.
"We can discuss how to handle this when I get back, but for now, you WILL stay in this tower until I get back. Is that clear?" he said.
"You can't do that! It was ONE time!"
"IS THAT CLEAR?!" he yelled. I nodded slowly. He left and closed my door.
I felt tears welling up in my eyes. I can't believe I ratted myself out! Now, I may never go to school again! Never see Peter again. All because of one mistake.
What if he found out about the others?! Oh god, I would never be allowed out of my room.
