Hanah's POV

Third period: English

So this class is on the other side of the school. And as I pass people in the hallway, I heard a few whispers about me.

Hey, look. It's Ryan's girl.

Isn't that the chick Ryan winked at?

Why did Ryan look at her before me? She's not even that pretty.

Uglier up close.

So that's my label huh. Ryan's girl. The girl that Ryan winked at on the first day. The girl that Mindy might despise forever.

Awh, fuck it.

I plugged in my earbuds to block out the voices.

As my brain was taking in the lyrics and understanding the meaning, I mistakenly bumped into someone.

"Oops, sorry."

I looked up to see a brunette about my height. "No, it's my fault." He looked at me with his light green eyes. I couldn't help but get mesmerized in it.

"I'm Hanah." I give a light smile.

He smirked, pointed a finger at me and said, "Aren't you Ryan's girl?"

I scoffed then tried to push him aside as I try to find English class.

"Hey. Hey." He grabbed my arm and pulled me back. I raised my eyes to look at him.

He gave me a cute shy smile. "I'm sorry. Start over?"

I had to giggle at this. "Start over."

He stuck out his hand, "I'm David. Nice to meet you."

"And I'm Hanah," I replied.

"So what class are you going to?"

"English. You?"

"Same."

"Then we should go."

On the way to English class, David and I started to get to know each other.

His parents are divorced and he lives with his mom. He has an older brother name Mike, and Mike is always stoned.

"Sorry about your bro," I said, following David into class.

He took one of the seats in the back and I sat in the one next to his.

"Nah, don't worry about it. I'm used to it." He placed his elbows on the desk and rested his chin in the palm of his hands. He turned his head sideways to look at me. "So what's your story?"

"Well, parents. My mom died. I live with my dad. Only child. Went to therapy for a couple months cause my step-mom believed I had depression..."

That wasn't the case though.

"... so yeh, that's my story."

The last bell rung and the teacher came in.

"Sorry class."

She turned behind her and started to write on the chalkboard.

My name is Ms.Gills

She dusted off the chalk on her white pants.

"You can call me Ms.G or Ms.Gills, doesn't really matter. Um, let's see. I've been teaching here for about five years. I'm really laid-back and chill about you guys talking and using cell phones in class. But only if you're done with the work. And yeh, that's about it. I'm just going to take attendance and then you guys can chill for the rest of the time."

Well, I sure am going to be loving this class.

I listen as she takes attendance. Surveying the room for Mindy and Ryan. I don't notice either of them, but I can't be to sure.

When Ms.G's at the H's, I clutch my jaw together tightly, hoping she wouldn't say the name Mindy.

And she doesn't.

When she gets to the K's, I do the same. And once again, she doesn't call out Ryan's name.

She called out my name and I heard David chuckle from beside me.

I slapped his arm, "What's the chuckling about?"

"Nothing. Nothing," he replied.

"Tell me." I slap his arm again.

"Really? Your last name is Lucky?"

I shrugged at his comment. "Yeh, what about it?"

"Don't you see the irony? You're last name being Lucky, but I bet you don't feel so lucky," he pointed out.

I couldn't help but agree with him, because I thought the same thing.

"David Molt."

David raised his hand and gave a here.

"Molt. I like that last name. Imma call you that from now on," I teased.

"Same to you, Lucky," he teased back.

Two can play at this game, Molt.

For the rest of the period, we got to know one other and kept on teasing one another. It felt like we were best friends reuniting.

♣️Ryan's POV♣️

After having two classes with this chick already, I was feeling lucky. I crossed my fingers and hoped that she was in my next class.

I walked into Maths and searched in the back row for her, no luck.

What the hell, Ryan. Why are you even looking for her. She's just some chick you're going to bang in the future.

I know I have the bad boy reputation in this school. I know I'm a man-whore, but hey. Don't hate the player, hate the game.

I take a seat in the back, perching my feet up on the desk.

When I start to pull out my phone, from boredom. Mindy walked in laughing with a blonde chick. She saw me and instantly left her friend.

Mindy, she was my ex. And this says a lot. If you know me, you know I don't date. Mindy started out as a hookup and for some reason, along the line I started developing feelings for her.

After a few weeks of dating her, I wanted splits cause she was being to clingy, jealous, and kinda of a bitch.

Ever since then, I promised myself it was hump and dump. No commitment, no relationship, no strings attached.

A few minutes later, the teacher comes in and he starts blabbering about how to maintain a good grade in this class and crap. The funny thing was, all I could think about was Hanah.
